TO THE
NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE
OF THURSDAY, DECEMBER 7, 1876.

Fixing date of First Elections under "The Counties Act, 1876."

NORMANBY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the authority vested
in me by the 64th section of "The Counties
Act, 1876," I, George Augustus Constantine, Marquis
of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the twenty-second
day of December instant, to be the day on which the
first general election of the Council of every county
in which the said Act is in force shall be held.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
fifth day of December, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-six.

Returning Officers under "The Counties Act, 1876," appointed.

NORMANBY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of all powers and autho-
rities vested in me by "The Counties Act, 1876,"
I, George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Nor-
manby, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby appoint the persons named in the attached
Schedule to be Returning Officers to conduct the
first Election of the County Councillors for the
districts respectively set opposite their names.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Nomanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and

ERRATA.—In the New Zealand Gazette, No. 63, of the 28th November, 1876, page 817. For boundaries of the Kawakawa
Riding, read as follows:--"Kawakawa—Bounded towards the North-east by Oroua Riding; towards the East by the
centres of the Oroua and Manawatu Rivers; towards the South by the northern boundaries of the Township of Foxton; towards
the West by the ocean and Rangitikei County." In the same Gazette, page 830, in Cook County, for "Waipu" read
"Waiapu." In Wairoa County, for "one" Councillor, Waikaremoana, read "three;" for "four" Councillors, Mohaka, read
"two." In Waipawa County, for "two" Councillors, Porangahau, read "one;" for "two" Councillors, Waipukurau, read "one."
On page 831, in Vincent County, for "two" Councillors, Manuherikia, read "one."
