Free Pardon.

NOTICE.

Department of Justice,
Wellington, 11th November, 1876.

WHEREAS it is supposed that the premises known
as "Calderwood's City Foundry," off Tuam
Street, Christchurch, were set on Fire on Friday, the
13th day of October last, at about 2 o'clock a.m., by
the act of Incendiaries:

This is to notify that His Excellency the Governor
will grant a Free Pardon to any person implicated in
the said act, not being a principal offender, who shall
give such information as will lead to the apprehension
and conviction of any one or more of the other of-
fenders.

NOTICE is hereby given, that Mr. Thomas Welton
Stanford, of Bourke Street East, in the City
of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has applied
on behalf of the Singer Manufacturing Company of
New York, in the United States of America, to
register under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866," the
trade mark of which the following is a description,
viz.,--

Description of Trade Mark.

An oval-shaped label, in the centre of which,
lengthwise, is a sewing machine shuttle with two
needles crossing it diagonally in opposite directions,
the top and bottom stroke of the letter S passing
across the ends of the needles, the central bend of
the said letter S passing through the centre of the
shuttle, and a spool suspended on the lower arm of
said letter S; the whole surrounded by a border,
within which are the words "The Singer M.F.G.
Co., N.Y."
