Additional Regulations under "The Electric
Telegraph Act, 1875."
NORMANBY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
sixteenth day of November, 1876.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Electric Telegraph Act,
1875," it is, amongst other things, enacted
that it shall be lawful for the Governor, by Order in
Council, to make regulations for fixing and deter-
mining the fees, rates, or dues to be demanded and
received for the transmission of any despatch, mes-
sage, or communication by means of any telegraph
line, and for the delivery thereof, respectively; and
that such regulations shall have the force of law
when published in the Government Gazette of the
colony:
Now, therefore, His Excellency George Augustus
Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers vested in him by the herein-
before recited Act, doth, with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of New Zealand, make the
additional regulations contained in the Schedule
hereto: And in further pursuance and exercise of
the said powers, and with the like advice and consent
as aforesaid, His said Excellency doth hereby order
and declare that such regulations shall take effect
from and after the sixteenth day of November, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-six, and that
they shall be read with and form part of the regula-
tions now in force.
SCHEDULE.
THE tariff rates at present in force, limiting the
receipt of telegrams by evening papers, between the
hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on week-days, to two
hundred words at evening rates, shall, until the
thirty-first day of January, one thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy-seven, be extended to five hundred
words between the same hours.

Circuit Court to be held at Blenheim in December next.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
sixteenth day of November, 1876.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Supreme Court Act, 1860,"
it is enacted that there shall be held Circuit
Courts, for the despatch of civil and criminal business
of the Court before one of the Judges thereof, at
such places and times as the Governor in Council
may from time to time appoint:
And whereas by Order in Council made the six-
teenth day of July, in the year one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-five, Circuit Courts were ap-
pointed to be held within the Nelson District, at
the Provincial Council Hall at Blenheim, on the
second Monday in each of the months of June and
December in each and every year:
And whereas it is expedient that a Circuit Court of
the Supreme Court should be held on the first Mon-
day in December next, in lieu of the Circuit Court
appointed by the said in part recited Order in Coun-
cil to be held at Blenheim on the second Monday
in December next:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Colony, in exercise and pursuance of the power and
authority vested in him by "The Supreme Court
Act, 1860," doth hereby revoke the said in part
recited Order in Council so far, but so far only, as
the same appoints a Circuit Court of the Supreme
Court to be held in the Nelson District on the second
Monday in December next, at the Provincial Council
Hall at Blenheim; and doth hereby appoint that, in
lieu of the Circuit Court so appointed to be held,
there shall be held in the said district, in the Immi-
gration DepΓ΄t, at Blenheim, on the first Monday in
December next, a Circuit Court for the despatch of
civil and criminal business of the said Court.

Alteration of Boundaries of Otago Road Boards.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
sixteenth day of November, 1876.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of all powers vested in
him by the twenty-seventh section of "The
Abolition of Provinces Act, 1876," His Excellency
the Governor of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof,
doth hereby give his consent to the attached Pro-
clamation.

A PROCLAMATION
By His Honor JAMES MACANDREW, Esquire, Super-
intendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by section seven of "The Otago Roads
Ordinance 1871 Amendment Ordinance, 1874," it
is provided that it shall be lawful for the Super-
intendent of the Province of Otago, upon the
recommendation of the Provincial Council of the
said Province, from time to time, by Proclamation in
the Gazette, to alter the boundaries of any road dis-
trict, and either to enlarge or diminish the area there-
of; also to increase or diminish the number of sub-
divisions of any road district, and to alter the
boundaries and to increase or diminish the area of
any subdivision or subdivisions of any road district,
notwithstanding that any district or any subdivision
or subdivisions of any district may already have been
constituted by the said Ordinance or by any Procla-
mation thereunder: And whereas by "The Abolition
of Provinces Act, 1875," it is enacted that until the
day next after the last day of the first session of the
next or sixth Parliament of New Zealand all powers,
duties, and functions which immediately before the
passing of the said Act were under or by virtue of any
law vested in or to be exercised or performed by the
Superintendent of any province, on the recommenda-
tion of the Provincial Council of such province, under
any law or Ordinance for the time being in force,
shall be exercised by the Superintendent, with the
consent of the Governor in Council: And whereas
the Superintendent of the Province of Otago has
recommended His Excellency the Governor in Coun-
cil to alter the boundaries of the Waiareka, Kakanui,
Waitaki, and Awamoko Road Districts, and the
number and boundaries of the subdivisions thereof,
and His Excellency the Governor in Council has
