Appointment of Geodesical Surveyor.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
appoint
CHARLES WILLIAM ADAMS, Esq.,
to be a Geodesical Surveyor in the Department of
the Surveyor-General, New Zealand, from 17th Sep-
tember, 1876.

Land reserved as a Site for a Public Hall.
WHEREAS by the Regulations for the Sale and
Disposal of Lands taken under the authority of
"The New Zealand Settlements Act, 1863," and "The
New Zealand Settlements Amendment and Continu-
ance Act, 1865," contained in the Schedule to an
Order in Council made and issued, bearing date the
eleventh day of May, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-one, it is provided that reserves for
roads, and all other public purposes whatever, and
for education, and the sites for churches and chapels
or other places of worship for different religious
denominations, may be made by Government out of
any confiscated lands, and that notices of all such
reserves shall be published in the New Zealand
Gazette: It is hereby notified that the land specified
in the Schedule hereunder written shall be reserved
for the purpose therein mentioned and set opposite
the description of the said parcel of land.

"The Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872," and "The
Municipal Reserves Act, 1874," under the hand of

his Honor the Superintendent of Otago, bearing
date the 16th of October, 1876, reserving certain
lands in the Province of Otago as specified in the
Schedule hereto, and for the purposes therein men-
tioned, has been approved by the Governor in
Council, as provided by the 27th section of "The
Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875."

ALL that parcel of land comprising four hundred
and seventy-two (472) acres two (2) roods and
thirty-three (33) perches, more or less, being Sec-
tions forty-six (46), forty-seven (47), forty-eight
(48), Block one (I.), and fourteen (14), twenty-six
(26), twenty-seven (27), twenty-eight (28), Block
two (II.), Jacob's River Hundred. Bounded on the
North-east by public road, nine thousand one hundred
and eight (9108) links; on the South-east by Section
twenty-five (25), Block two (II.), Jacob's River
Hundred, three thousand six hundred and forty
(3640) links; on the South by the ocean; and on
the North-west by Section forty-nine (49), Block one
(I.), Jacob's River Hundred, five thousand nine
hundred (5900) links; again on the North-west by
public road, two thousand one hundred and nine
(2109) links; again on the North-east by Sections
thirteen (13) and three (3), Block two (II.), Jacob's
River Hundred, three thousand three hundred and
fifty-five (3355) links; again on the South-east by
Section fifteen (15), Block two (II.), Jacob's River

ment for the municipality of Riverton.
All that parcel of land comprising fourteen (14)
perches, more or less, being part of Section numbered
two (2), Block thirty-one (XXXI.), Town of Queens-
town. Bounded towards the North-east by Stanley
Street, eighty-five (85) links; towards the South-east
by part of said Section two (2), one hundred and
twenty (120) links; towards the South-west by other
parts of said Section two (2), sixty-seven (67) links;
and towards the North-west by part of Section five
(5), one hundred and eighteen (118) links. As a site
for a drill-shed for the Queenstown Volunteers.
All that parcel of land comprising five (5) acres
and two (2) roods, more or less, situate in the Waita-
huna West Survey District, being Section numbered
one hundred and sixteen (116), Block one (I.), on
the map of the said district. Bounded towards the
North by a road line, one thousand one hundred
(1100) links; towards the East by a road line, five
hundred (500) links; towards the South by a road
line, one thousand one hundred (1100) links; and
towards the West by Crown lands, five hundred (500)
links. As a site for a public school.
All that parcel of land comprising three (3) acres,
more or less, situate in Cairnhill Survey District,
being Section numbered sixty (60), Block one (I.),
on the map of the said district. Bounded towards
the North-east by Section sixty-two (62), five
hundred (500) links; towards the South-east by a
road line, six hundred (600) links; towards the
South-west by a road line, five hundred (500) links;
and towards the North-west by part of Section
twenty-seven (27), six hundred (600) links. As a
site for a public school.
All that parcel of land comprising ten (10) acres,
more or less, situate in the Waitahuna West Survey
District, being Section numbered ninety-six (96),
Block one (I.), on the map of the said district.
