PATENT FOR A RABBIT TREPANNER.

THIS is to notify, that DUNCAN MACARTHUR, of
Invercargill, in the Province of Otago, Inspector
of Forests, did, on the twenty-third day of August,
instant, deposit at the office of the Patent Officer,
in the Colonial Secretary's Office in Wellington, a
specification or instrument in writing under his
hand and seal, particularly describing and ascertain-
ing the nature of the said Invention, and in what
manner the same is to be performed; and that, by
reason of such deposit, the said Invention is protected
and secured to him exclusively for the term of six
calendar months thence next ensuing.

And I do further notify, that the said Duncan
Macarthur has given notice in writing, at my office,
of his intention to proceed with his application for
Letters Patent for the said Invention, and that I
have appointed Friday, the twenty-second day of
December next, at noon, at my office, to hear and
consider the said application and all objections there-
to; and I do hereby require all persons having an
interest in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent
to leave, on or before the eighteenth day of Decem-
ber next, at my office in Wellington, particulars in
writing of their objections to the said application,
otherwise they will be precluded from urging the
same.

PATENT FOR A RABBIT AND GAME TRAP.

THIS is to notify, that GEORGE SHAW, of Wel-
lington, Commercial Traveller, did, on the
twenty-ninth day of August last, deposit at the
office of the Patent Officer, in the Colonial Secre-
tary's Office in Wellington, a specification or instru-
ment in writing under his hand and seal, particularly
describing and ascertaining the nature of the said
Invention, and in what manner the same is to be
performed; and that, by reason of such deposit, the
said Invention is protected and secured to him ex-
clusively for the term of six calendar months thence
next ensuing.

And I do further notify, that the said George
Shaw has given notice in writing, at my office, of his
intention to proceed with his application for Letters
Patent for the said Invention, and that I have
appointed Friday, the twenty-second day of Decem-
ber next, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at my
office, to hear and consider the said application and
all objections thereto; and I do hereby require all
persons having an interest in opposing the grant of
such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the
eighteenth day of December next, at my office in
Wellington, particulars in writing of their objections
to the said application, otherwise they will be pre-
cluded from urging the same.

PATENT FOR A SELF-ACTING SHIP'S PUMP.

THIS is to notify, that HENRY CHAMBERLIN, of
Auckland, in the Province of Auckland, Gentle-
man, did, on the third day of August instant, deposit
at the office of the Patent Officer, in the Colonial
Secretary's Office in Wellington, a specification or
instrument in writing under his hand and seal, par-
ticularly describing and ascertaining the nature of
the said Invention, and in what manner the same is
to be performed; and that, by reason of such deposit,
the said Invention is protected and secured to him
exclusively for the term of six calendar months
thence next ensuing.

And I do further notify, that the said Henry
Chamberlin has given notice in writing, at my office,
of his intention to proceed with his application for
Letters Patent for the said Invention, and that I
have appointed Friday, the twenty-second day of
December next, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon,
at my office, to hear and consider the said applica-
tion and all objections thereto; and I do hereby

THIS is to notify, that WILLIAM ANDREWS, of
Christchurch, Canterbury, Engineer, and HENRY
MOFFAT, of Lincoln, Canterbury, Miller and Farmer,
did, on the twenty-fifth day of August last, deposit
at the office of the Patent Officer, in the Colonial
Secretary's Office in Wellington, a specification or
instrument in writing under their hands and seals,
particularly describing and ascertaining the nature
of the said Invention, and in what manner the same
is to be performed; and that, by reason of such
deposit, the said Invention is protected and secured
to them exclusively for the term of six calendar
months thence next ensuing.

And I do further notify, that the said William
Andrews and Henry Moffat have given notice in
writing, at my office, of their intention to proceed
with their application for Letters Patent for the said
Invention, and that I have appointed Friday, the
twenty-second day of December next, at eleven
o'clock in the forenoon, at my office, to hear and
consider the said application and all objections
thereto; and I do hereby require all persons having
an interest in opposing the grant of such Letters
