I, WILLIAM PATRICK CRAUFORD, Regis-
trar of Joint Stock Companies for the Pro-
vince of Westland, do hereby notify that I have this
day registered a Memorandum of Association (with
articles annexed) establishing a Company, with limited
liability of the shareholders therein, entitled
"The Kumara Water-Race Company (Limited)."

The objects for which the Company is established
are expressed to be "the construction of an Extended
Head Race from the Kapitea Creek (near the Loop
Line Road, Arahura District, in the said Province)
to the Kumara Gold Fields, and the construction of
dams and reservoirs in connection with such race, for
the purpose of supplying and selling water for mining
purposes, and the construction of branch races in
connection therewith."

And I further notify that, in pursuance of the
provisions of "The Joint Stock Companies Act,
1860," a certificate of incorporation of the said
Company has been duly issued by me, bearing even
date herewith.

appointed by His Honor Joshua Strange Williams,
a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New
Zealand, under "The Commissioners of the Supreme
Court Act, 1875," for the purpose of administering
and taking any oath, affidavit, or affirmation.

register the Caledonia Gold Mining Company
as a Limited Company, under the provisions of "The
Mining Companies Act, 1872."

  1. The name of the Company is to be the Caledonia Gold
    Mining Company (Limited).
  2. The place of operations is at Waitekaturi, in the Ohinemuri
    District, in the Province of Auckland, and Colony of New
    Zealand.
  3. The registered office of the Company will be situated at the
    office of Thomas Horsbrugh, Brown Street, Thames.
  4. The nominal capital of the Company is seven thousand
    five hundred pounds, in fifteen thousand shares of ten shillings
    each.
  5. The number of shares subscribed for is twelve thousand,
    being more than two-thirds of the entire number of shares in
    the Company.
  6. The number of paid up shares is nil.
  7. The amount already paid up is nil.
  8. The name of the Manager is Thomas Horsbrugh.
