of the Executive Council thereof, and in exercise
and pursuance of all powers and authorities en-
abling him in this behalf, doth hereby extend the
operation of the By-laws, Rules, and Regulations
published in the New Zealand Gazette, Nos. 8 and 27,
of 10th February and 11th May, 1876, respectively,
to the portion of the line of railway mentioned in the
Schedule hereto; said By-laws, Rules, and Regula-
tions to be from that date deemed to be the Regula-
tions and By-laws in force for the portion of the line
of railway mentioned in the Schedule aforesaid.

Warrant appointing an Additional Polling Place.
NORMANBY, Governor.
TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME,
GREETING:
WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections Act,
1870," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Governor, by Warrant under his hand, from time
to time to appoint Polling Places for each Electoral
District within or within one mile of the limits thereof,
and to appoint any one of such Polling Places to be
the Principal Polling Place for the district, and all
or any of such Polling Places from time to time to
abolish, and, if he think fit, to appoint other Polling
Places in lieu of those abolished, and that every such
Warrant shall be published in the New Zealand
Gazette: Provided always that no Polling Place
shall be appointed by the Governor under the said
Act unless he shall be first satisfied that the place to
be appointed is more convenient than any other for
at least twenty electors to record their votes thereat:
Now know ye that I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of New Zea-
land, in pursuance of the power and authority in me
vested by the said Act, do hereby appoint the follow-
ing place to be an additional Polling Place for the
Electoral District hereinafter specified, for the election
of Members of the House of Representatives for the
District of Marsden, namely,---
The School House, Maungaturoto.
Given under the hand of His Excellency
the Most Honorable George Augustus
Constantine, Marquis of Normanby,
Earl of Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby,
and Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in
the County of York, in the Peerage of
the United Kingdom; and Baron Mul-
grave of New Ross, in the County of
Wexford, in the Peerage of Ireland; a
Member of Her Majesty's Most Honor-
able Privy Council; Knight Commander
of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George; Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and
its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same; at the Government House, at Wel-
lington, this fifth day of September, in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-six.

THE following Bye-law, passed by the Municipal
Corporation of the Town of Arrowtown, is
published in accordance with the provisions of "The
Municipal Corporations Acts Amendment Act, 1875."

BYE-LAW No. 5.
BYE-LAW of the Town Council of the incorporated
Town of Arrowtown, made under special order of
the said Town Council, dated the third day of
July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
six, confirmed the twentieth day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-six, and sealed
with the Common Seal of the said Town Council
of the incorporated Town of Arrowtown, the
twentieth day of July, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-six.
In pursuance of "The Municipal Corpora-
tions Act, 1867," and the Acts amending
the same, the Town Council of the incor-
porated Town of Arrowtown ordain as
follows :-
The provisions of Sections eighty-eight (88), eighty-
nine (89), and ninety (90), subdivision four (4) of
part ten (10) of the Thirteenth Schedule of "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1867," and for the
purpose of making regulations thereunder for the
licensing of pedlers and hawkers trading or carrying
on business within the limits of the incorporated
Town of Arrowtown.
