EDWARD CHARLES MEREDITH, Esq.,
Clerk in the Resident Magistrate's Court at Carlyle,
to be a Licensing Officer under "The Arms Act,
1860."

IT is hereby notified for general information, that
the designation of the Post Office in the Pro-
vince of Canterbury, known as Upper Ashburton,
has been changed to
MOUNT SOMERS.

PURSUANT to the provisions of an Act of the
General Assembly of New Zealand, passed in
the eighteenth year of the reign of Her Majesty
Queen Victoria, and intituled "The Marriage Act,
1854," the following names of Officiating Ministers
within the meaning of the said Act are published for
general information :--
Lutheran Church.

Under "The Neglected and Criminal Children Act,
1867."
PARTICULARS of an Arrangement entered into
between His Honor the SUPERINTENDENT of the
Province of Otago, and His Honor the DEPUTY
SUPERINTENDENT of the Province of Wellington.
WHEREAS a Reformatory School has been estab-
lished by the Superintendent of the said
Province of Otago for the purposes of "The Neglected
and Criminal Children Act, 1867," at Dunedin, in the
said Province of Otago: And whereas no Reforma-
tory School has been established in the said Province
of Wellington:
Now we, James Macandrew, Superintendent of
the Province of Otago, and Henry Bunny, Deputy
Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, duly
appointed under the provisions of "The Deputy
Superintendent of Wellington Act, 1876," with the
consent and by the advice of my Executive Council,
do hereby arrange and agree that the said Reforma-
tory School at Dunedin, in the Province of Otago,
shall be used in common for "convicted children,"
within the meaning of the said "Neglected and
Criminal Children Act, 1867," found or requiring to
be dealt with under the provisions of the said
"Neglected and Criminal Children Act, 1867," in
the Province of Wellington, as well as for such
children found or requiring to be dealt with in the
Province of Otago.
And we do hereby further agree that out of the
moneys in the Treasury of the Province of Welling-
ton, there shall be paid to the Superintendent of
Otago, for every child sent from the Province of
Wellington to the said Reformatory School, a sum
equivalent to the actual cost of maintaining and pro-
viding for such child in the said Reformatory School.
