IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND.

TO WILLIAM ISAAC THOMAS, of Levuka, Registrar
of the Supreme Court of Fiji.

WHEREAS, by "The Commissioners of the
Supreme Court Act, 1875," it is enacted, that
any Judge of the Supreme Court may appoint Com-
missioners in any country or place beyond the
jurisdiction of the said Court, for the purpose of
administering and taking any oath, affidavit, or
affirmation, as in the said Act particularly mentioned:

Now therefore, I, Thomas Bannatyne Gillies, a
Judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, in
exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred on
me by the said Act, do hereby appoint William Isaac
Thomas, of Levuka, Registrar of the Supreme Court
of Fiji, to be a Commissioner of the Colony of New
Zealand, for the purpose of administering and taking
any oath, affidavit, or affirmation, whether in any
action, suit, cause, proceeding, matter or thing com-
menced or pending in the Supreme Court of New
Zealand, or any Court of concurrent or inferior
jurisdiction in the said colony, or in any proceeding,
matter, or thing whatsoever, within the cognizance
or jurisdiction of any such Court. This commission
to remain in force until he ceases to reside at or
near Levuka aforesaid, or until revoked.

Dated at Auckland, in the Colony of New
Zealand, this fourteenth day of January,
in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-six.
