PATENT for a Stockless, Double-grip, Anti-fouling
CLARK and GEORGE WILLIAM MASON, both of Port
Chalmers, Otago, Mariners, did, on the first day of
April instant, deposit at the office of the Patent
Officer, in the Colonial Secretary's Office, in Welling-
ton, a Specification or instrument in writing under
their hands and seals, particularly describing and
ascertaining the nature of the said Invention, and in
what manner the same is to be performed; and that
by reason of such deposit the said Invention is pro-
tected and secured to them exclusively for the term
of six calendar months thence next ensuing.

And I do further notify that the said John Edward
Clark and George William Mason have given notice
in writing at my office of their intention to proceed
with their application for Letters Patent for the said
Invention, and that I have appointed Friday, the
twenty-eighth day of July next, at eleven o'clock in
the forenoon, at my office, to hear and consider the
said application and all objections thereto; and I do
hereby require all persons having an interest in
opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to leave,
on or before the twenty-fourth day of July next, at
my office in Wellington, particulars in writing of
their objections to the said application, otherwise
they will be precluded from urging the same.

Given under my hand this first day of April, 1876.

DATENT for constructing Columns, Pillars, or
Casing therefrom. This is to notify, that JOHN
NAPIER, of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago,
Engineer, did, on the fourteenth day of March instant,
deposit at the office of the Patent Officer, in the
Colonial Secretary's Office, in Wellington, a Specifi-
cation or instrument in writing under his hand and
seal, particularly describing and ascertaining the
nature of the said Invention, and in what manner the
same is to be performed; and that by reason of such
deposit the said Invention is protected and secured
to him exclusively for the term of six calendar months
thence next ensuing.

And I do further notify that the said John Napier
has given notice in writing at my office of his intention
to proceed with his application for Letters Patent for
the said Invention, and that I have appointed Friday,
the fourteenth day of July next, at twelve o'clock
noon, at my office, to hear and consider the said appli-
cation and all objections thereto; and I do hereby
require all persons having an interest in opposing the
grant of such Letters Patent to leave, on or before
the tenth day of July next, at my office in Wellington,
particulars in writing of their objections to the said
application, otherwise they will be precluded from
urging the same.

Given under my hand this fourteenth day of March,
1876.
