Appointing additional Gazettes under "The Debtors
and Creditors Act, 1875."
NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the fifth section of "The Debtors
and Creditors Act, 1875," it is, amongst other
things, enacted that the term "Gazette" in the said
Act shall mean any newspaper or newspapers to be
from time to time appointed by the Governor for each
district: And whereas by Proclamations dated the
twenty-second day of December, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-five, and the twelfth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six,
the districts named in the Schedule hereto were,
amongst others, constituted districts under the said
Act: And whereas certain newspapers have been
appointed to be Gazettes for such districts respec-
tively : And whereas it is expedient to appoint
other newspapers to be Gazettes in addition to those
appointed as aforesaid: Now, therefore, I, George
Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me, do hereby appoint that, for the districts
named in the Schedule hereto, the newspapers the
names whereof are in the said Schedule set opposite
to the names of such districts shall be the Gazettes
for such districts respectively under the said Act, in
addition to the newspapers already appointed..

thousand eight hundred and seventy-six.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Governor of
New Zealand having, under the powers in him
vested by "The Immigration and Public Works Act,
1870," and the Acts amending the same, and of all
other powers enabling him in that behalf, deemed it
expedient to open and make a line of road from
Hawera Township, in the Province of Taranaki, to
the northern bank of the Mangamawhete River,
which road is, in the opinion of the Governor and the
Executive Council of the Colony, not a road to be
constructed by the Superintendent and the Provincial
Council of the said Province of Taranaki, and the
course and bearings of which said road, the ad-
measurements required for the same, and the lands
through which the same passes, together with the
names of the owners and occupiers thereof, so far as
known, are respectively shown and delineated on a
certain map or survey plan marked T. 223, and which
said road is also described in a certain Proclamation
made under the said Act, and published in Gazette
No. 21, dated 6th April, 1876:
A copy of the said map or survey plan, marked
T. 223, is deposited and may be seen and inspected
at the office of the Public Works Department at New
Plymouth, in the Province of Taranaki.
And notice is hereby further given, that all or any
person or persons affected by the making of the said
line of road from Hawera Township to the Northern
bank of the Mangamawhete River are required
to set forth in writing, addressed to the Governor,
and left at the office of the said Public Works De-
partment at New Plymouth aforesaid, within forty
days from the first publication hereof, any well-
grounded objection he or they may have to the said
road.

THE following Regulations, passed by the Muni-
cipal Corporation of the Town of Clyde, are
published in accordance with the provisions of "The
Municipal Corporations Acts Amendment Act,
1875."

REGULATIONS of the Council of the Town of Clyde,
made under the Thirteenth Schedule of "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1867."
No. 1.
A Regulation made under the authority of section
4, subdivision 1, part 1, of the Thirteenth Schedule
of said Act, "For regulating the height from the
ground and design of Porticos or Verandahs."

No portico or verandah shall be of less height
than eight feet from the kerbor level of footpath to the
soffitte of the fascia, measured in the centre of the
verandah, nor higher than nine feet, unless the permis-
sion of the Council has been first obtained in either
case. -
The plan and specification of every such portico
or verandah shall be produced and left at the office
of the Town Clerk at the time of applying for such
permission, and the design shall be approved by the
said Council before its erection is proceeded with.
