sails; and to effect other improvements in the propul-
sion, speed, and safety of vessels of any description,
and used for any purpose whatever, whether for
transport, attack, defence, or otherwise. Date of

No. 149. CHARLES MCQUEEN, of Dunedin, Otago,
New Zealand, Engineer. An Invention for more
simply, quickly, and easily Rivetting Wrought-iron
Pipes of small diameter, by a tool called the Auxi-
liary Rivetter, and the use of short pieces of round
Iron instead of ordinary Rivets. Date of Patent
