THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

In the matter of the Companies Acts, 1862 and
1867, and of "The New Zealand Land and Coal
Company, Limited."

THE Creditors of the above-named Company are
required, on or before the first day of July,
1875, to send their names and addresses, and the
particulars of their debts and claims, and the names
and the addresses of their Solicitors, if any, to the
Liquidators of the said Company, at the offices of
Messieurs Corser and Fowler, of Wolverhampton, in
the County of Stafford, England, Solicitors; and if so
required, by notice in writing from the said Liqui-
dators or their Solicitors, are themselves, or by their
Solicitors, to come in and prove their said debts or
claims, at such place and time as shall be specified
in such notice; or, in default thereof, they will be
excluded from the benefit of any distribution made
before such debts are proved.

SOUTHLAND BUILDING, LAND, AND INVESTMENT
SOCIETY.

To Mr. JAMES BROWN, the Secretary of the Southland
Building, Land, and Investment Society.

WE, the undersigned, members of the Southland
Building, Land, and Investment Society, here-
by request you to convene a special meeting of the
members and shareholders of the said Society, for the
purpose of considering the following alterations and
amendments of the rules and constitution of the said
Society, that is to say:-

PROPOSED AMENDMENTS AND ALTERATIONS OF THE
RULES AND CONSTITUTION OF THE SAID SOCIETY.

Amendments of Rule V.
The second and fourth clauses of the Fifth Rule
are hereby repealed.

For the purpose of receiving the subscriptions and
all other payments due or payable under the rules of
the said Society, attendance will be given in the
Court House, Invercargill, or such other place as the
Committee may from time to time lawfully appoint,
between the hours of ten o'clock in the forenoon and
half-past two o'clock in the afternoon, and also
between the hours of seven o'clock and nine o'clock
in the evening of every alternate Wednesday, upon
which day the subscriptions shall be due and payable.

Payments of subscriptions may be made in advance,
for which discount at the rate of two pounds ten
shillings per centum per annum, or at such other rate
as the Committee may from time to time in that be-
half by resolution appoint, shall be allowed for periods
of not less than six months.

Amendment of Rule VII.
The annual general meeting of the Society shall be
held on the Wednesday next ensuing the first sub-
scription night in May in each year, at 7.30 p.m., in
lieu of the time fixed by the second clause of the
Seventh Rule.

Amendment of Rule IX.
The second clause of the Ninth Rule is hereby
repealed.

When a shareholder receives an advance he shall
pay interest upon the full amount from the day of
allotment thereof, at such rate of interest, not being
less than eight pounds per centum per annum, nor
more than ten pounds per centum per annum, as the
Committee shall from time to time in that behalf by

resolution fix and appoint, and such interest shall be
payable along with the said shareholder's subscrip-
tions, and he shall be subject and bound to pay fines
for arrears of interest at the same rate and in addi-
tion to the fines provided in the said rules with re-
gard to arrears of subscriptions.

No resolution of the Committee fixing or altering
the rate of interest shall come into force until ten
days after the passing thereof, and until it shall
have been published at least twice in some news-
paper circulating in Invercargill.

a Special Meeting of the Members and Shareholders
of the said Southland Building, Land, and Investment
Society, to be held in the Council Hall, Invercargill,
on Wednesday, the 7th day of July, 1875, at 9
o'clock p.m., for the purpose of considering the above
proposed amendments and alterations of the rules
and constitution of the said Society.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Partnership Busi-
ness of Shipowners and Saw-mill Proprietors,
formerly carried on by the undersigned at Clova Bay,
in the Province of Marlborough, under the style or
firm of "Suisted, Smith, and Co," has been dissolved
by mutual consent, as from the 15th day of January,
1875.

NOTICE is hereby given, that an Extraordinary
General Meeting of the Shareholders of "The
Patea Flax-Dressing Company, Limited," will be
held at the Taranaki Institute, Brougham Street,
New Plymouth, on Thursday, the 29th July, 1875,
at 7 o'clock p.m., for the purpose of receiving and
adopting the Liquidator's Final Report, and declaring
that the affairs of the Company have been fairly
wound up.
