JOHN PITCAIRN STEVENSON, of Wellington, Second
Clerk-Assistant, House of Representatives,
deceased.

UNDER the provisions of "The Public Payments
without Probate Act, 1869," and the regulations
made thereunder, published in the New Zealand
Gazette of 1870," page 212, the Colonial Treasurer
intends to make a payment of money due to the
above-named deceased to a person not being his legal
representative. All persons objecting to such pay-
ments being made, must give notice to the Colonial
Treasurer, at Wellington, within one calendar month
from the date of the Gazette containing this notice,
when their objections will be considered.

is therefore suspended for a period of three months
from the 5th instant.

NEW OBSERVATORY AT PORT LOUIS.

THE adopted latitude of the New Observatory at
Pamplemousses, from which the Time Ball on the
Signal Mountain at Port Louis is dropped at 1 p.m.,
mean solar time, is 20Β° 6' 6" South; and the adopted
longitude, 3h. 50' 12-6" East of Greenwich.
