  • The Candidate whose name is marked with an * passed his Examination in accordance with the proviso to clause 10 of
    the Regulations, which says:-"In respect of Cadets in the Engineer's branch of the Public Works Department, Plane Trigo-
    nometry may be substituted for Latin as a compulsory subject; but any candidate availing himself of the exception will not be
    considered as having passed the Senior Examination in respect of the other branches of the service."
