REQUISITION.
TO WILL S. DOUGLAS, Esq., Secretary, the Commer-
cial Building and Mutual Investment Society.
SIR—We, the undersigned Members of the Com-
mercial Building and Mutual Investment Society,
hereby request you to convene a General Meeting of
the Members of the said Society, for the purpose of
altering Rules 40, 53, and 57 of the Society, so
that the same shall respectively in future read as
follows:–
Rule 40.—Should there be no bidders for the dis-
posable funds of the Society, the Directors may make
advances to members for terms of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,
7, 8, 9, 10, or 12 years, repayable by monthly, quar-
terly, or yearly contributions, at the following rates,
which include interest, say for £100:–

Such borrowing members shall not, after the preced-
ing balance, receive any share of the profits of the
Society.
Rule 53.—The Directors may advance, by way of
loan to shareholders in this Society, such sums of
money as they may think fit, upon security of shares
of not less than two years' standing, for such term,
at such rate of interest, and on such conditions as
they may deem proper, provided that no such ad-
vance or loan shall exceed £75 per cent. of the
amount standing to the credit of such member in
respect of such shares, and that the interest charged
thereon shall not be less than £10 per cent. per
annum.
Rule 57.—A fee of two shillings and sixpence shall
be charged on each share withdrawn, unless the
member withdrawing is about to take up an advance.

In pursuance of the above requisition, I hereby
convene a General Meeting of the Members of the
Commercial Building and Mutual Investment Society,
to be held at the Office of the Society, Princes Street,
Dunedin, on Monday, the 10th day of August, 1874,
at 7 o'clock p.m., for the purpose of making the
proposed alterations in Rules 40, 53, and 57 of the
Society.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Partnership
heretofore existing between us, the under-
signed, under the name or firm of "Hooper and
Co.," of Auckland, Brewers, has been dissolved; and
that the business of the said firm will be carried on
by the undersigned, Henry Mahon Jervis, under the
said same name or firm, and the said Henry Mahon
Jervis will receive all debts due to, and pay all debts
due from, the said firm.
