Sale of Land in the Province of Westland
authorized.

JAMES FERGUSSON, Governor.

IN exercise of the power in me for this purpose
vested by "The Westland Waste Lands Act,
1870," I, Sir James Fergusson, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the sale
of the land described in the Schedule hereto to
THOMAS WARD, and
CHARLES DOUGLAS,
at the rate of ten shillings an acre.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Province of Westland,
containing by admeasurement seven hundred acres,
more or less, situate in the Totara District:
Bounded on the North-west and West by Rural
Sections 1493 and 1577; on the North and North-east
by road reserve along the Paringa River; on the
South-east by a line at right angles to the general
direction of the Paringa River; and on the South-
west by a line 80 chains distant from and generally
parallel to the Paringa River; exclusive of roads and
surveys and necessary reserves.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Right Honorable Sir James Fergusson,
Baronet, a Member of Her Majesty's
Most Honorable Privy Council, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same; and issued at Wellington, this
eighth day of July, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-four.

Westland Waste Lands Board to consider advisa-
bility of cancelling Sale of Land in Ahaura
District.

JAMES FERGUSSON, Governor.

IN exercise of the power in me for this purpose
vested by "The Westland Waste Lands Act,

1870," I, Sir James Fergusson, Baronet, the Governor
of New Zealand, do hereby fix and determine that a
special sitting of the Waste Lands Board for the Pro-
vince of Westland shall be held at the Office of the
Waste Lands Board, in the Town of Hokitika, on the
sixteenth day of July instant, at the hour of noon,
for the purpose of considering the advisability of can-
celling the sale of twenty acres of land in Block five,
Ahaura District, to William Fell Atkinson.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Right Honorable Sir James Fergusson,
Baronet, a Member of Her Majesty's
Most Honorable Privy Council, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same, at Wellington; and issued this four-
teenth day of July, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-four.

Provisions of "Foreign Seamen's Act, 1860," appli-
cable to Masters and Crews of Hawaiian Ships.

JAMES FERGUSSON, Governor.

IN exercise of the power vested in me in that
behalf by "The Foreign Seamen's Act, 1860,"
I hereby notify that from and after the first day of
August next, the provisions of the above-mentioned
Act will be enforced in respect of the masters and
crews of ships belonging to the Kingdom of Hawaii.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Right Honorable Sir James Fergusson,
Baronet, a Member of Her Majesty's
Most Honorable Privy Council, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same, at the Government House, Wel-
lington, this fifteenth day of July, in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-four.
