THE following Notices to Mariners, received from
the Portmaster, Brisbane, are published for
general information.

WILLIAM H. REYNOLDS.

ROCK OFF SIR JAMES SMITH'S GROUP—
CUMBERLAND ISLANDS.

THE Master of the schooner "Io" reports the existence
of a rock, which is dry at half-tide, one mile from the
western shore of the largest island of the Sir James
Smith's Group, Linné Peak bearing East northerly. I

SHOAL PATCH NEAR MAST HEAD ISLAND.

CAPTAIN PHILLIPS, of the s.s. "Florence Irving,"
reports having, at about low water, passed over a
shoal coral patch, with apparently not more than 2 to
3 fathoms water over it—Mast Head Island bearing
E. N., distant 5 miles.

Harbour Master appointed for Port of Napier.

Wellington, 24th June, 1874.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
appoint

HENRY KRAEFT

to be Harbour Master for the Port of Napier.

WILLIAM H. REYNOLDS.

Appointing Invercargill a Port at which Custom
House Agents must be licensed.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the power in me for
this purpose vested by "The Customs Regula-
tion Act, 1858," I, the Commissioner of Customs, do
hereby appoint and declare that

The Port of Invercargill

shall be a Port at which persons acting as Agents
in the entrance or clearance of Ships, Goods, or
Baggage, or any business relating thereto, shall be
required to be duly licensed for that purpose.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this
eighth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-four.

Approving and appointing Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In pursuance of the powers in me for
this purpose vested by "The Customs Regula-
tion Act, 1858," I, the Commissioner of Customs, do
hereby approve and appoint the under-mentioned
Warehouse, viz.,—

Port of Lyttelton.

Part of the back portion of the cellar, and the
portion of the ground-floor immediately over it, of a
building situate on Section 738 on the plan of the
City of Christchurch, having its entrance from Here-
ford Street, to be known as

FLETCHER'S BOND,

to be a Warehouse for the reception of Goods under
Bond.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this
twenty-third day of June, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-four.
