THE following Acts passed by the General Assembly
of New Zealand in the Session held in the
thirty-seventh year of the reign of Her Majesty
Queen Victoria, intituled—
2. "An Act to further alter and amend 'The Customs
Tariff Act, 1866;"'
18. "An Act relating to Life Assurance Companies;"
23. "An Act to amend 'The Steam Navigation Act, 1866,
and 'The Steam Navigation Act Amendment
Act, 1867;"'
29. "An Act to amend 'The Merchant Shipping Acts
Adoption Act, 1869 ;"'
33. "The Canterbury Waste Lands Act, 1873;"
34. "An Act to amend 'The Westland Waste Lands Act,
1870;"'
40. "An Act to provide for the Resumption of Land for
purposes of Mining for Gold or Silver;"
56. "An Act to amend and consolidate the Laws relating
to the Native Land Court and to Native Land;"
57. "An Act to fix the Duties payable to Her Majesty in
relation to the Alienation of Native Land, and to
make provision for the Payment and Recovery
thereof;"
60. "An Act to make provision for the better Administra-
tion of Native Reserves throughout the Colony;"
having been laid before the Queen in conformity
with the provisions of "The Constitution Act," His
Excellency the Governor has been informed by the
Secretary of State that Her Majesty will not be
advised to exercise her power of disallowance with
respect to these Acts.

Council and reserved by the Superintendent of
the Province of Taranaki for the signification of the
Governor's pleasure thereon, intituled—
"The Provincial Council Ordinance 1873
Amendment Ordinance, 1874," and
"The Roads Diversion Ordinance, 1874,"
having been laid before the Governor, His Excellency
has been pleased to assent to the same.

Henry Eyre Russell to be Lieutenant. Date of
