Governor has been pleased to confirm the sen-
tence of the Court of Inquiry into the wreck of the
"Surat," and that the Certificate of Competency as
Master, issued by the Board of Trade, No. 12,735,
held by
EDMUND JOSEPH JOHNSON,
and the Certificate of Competency as Master, issued
by the Board of Trade, No. 24,799, held by
ABRAM FORSHAW,
are therefore cancelled; also, that the Certificate of
Competency as Second Mate, issued by the Board of
Trade, No. 95,797, held by
EDWARD HASELTON,
is suspended for a period of two years, from the 20th
day of January last.

me as Commissioner appointed by His Excellency
the Governor to carry out the Regulations for the
Sale of Lands taken for settlement under "The New
Zealand Settlements Act, 1863," in the Province
of Auckland, I do hereby notify that the Town,
