the eighteenth year of the reign of Her Majesty
Queen Victoria, and intituled "The Marriage Act,
1854," the following name of an Officiating Minister
within the meaning of the said Act is published for
general information:—
United Methodist Free Churches.
The Reverend J. W. WORBOYS.
I, JOHN B. BENNETT, Registrar-General of Births,
Deaths, and Marriages in New Zealand, do hereby
certify that the foregoing Name of an Officiating
Minister, within the meaning of "The Marriage
Act, 1854," has been sent in to me, in addition to
the names in a List published in the New Zealand
Gazette, No. 6, of the 30th January in the present
year.
Given under my hand, at Wellington, this
sixth day of February, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-three.
JOHN B. BENNETT,
Registrar-General.
WHEREAS by a Commission under the hand of
His Excellency the Governor, dated the 10th
day of February, 1869, and directed to us the under-
signed, we were authorized, empowered, and enjoined,
under the stipulations contained in a certain deed
dated the 18th day of December, 1868, whereby the
loyal portion of the Aitangamahaki and Rongowha-
kaata Tribes, and the hapu of Ngaitahupo, ceded all
their lands, within certain boundaries therein de-
scribed, to the Crown, "that, subject to the terms of
the said deed, those loyal persons whose claims to
land within the said boundaries shall have been lodged
on or before the 18th day of March, 1869, shall have
such claims adjudicated upon by a Commission of
Judges of the Native Lands Court," to adjudicate
upon all such claims as aforesaid referred to us by
the Colonial Secretary, and to ascertain whether the
claimants making the same have done any of the
things described in the fifth section of "The New
Zealand Settlements Act, 1863;" and further to
make inquiry into the character of certain purchases
and gifts of land within the said boundaries alleged
to have been made by and to Europeans; with power
to order the attendance of such persons, and the
production of such books, papers, maps, and other
things as may be needful for the prosecution of the
said inquiry, and to administer oaths and take declar-
ations to and from all and any of the persons so
summoned: And whereas, on or about the 29th day
of June, 1869, we did, under the authority of the said
Commission, sit at Turanganui, in the Province of
Auckland, and did make inquiry and adjudicate upon
certain of the matters referred to us by the said
Commission: And whereas certain other matters
under the said deed yet remain to be inquired into
and adjudicated upon: Now we do hereby give
notice that we will, under and by virtue of the
powers vested in us by the said Commission, again
sit for the purpose of proceeding with such inquiry
and adjudication at Gisborne, Turanganui, in the
Province of Auckland, on the 15th day of April,
1873, at which time and place all claimants and other
persons referred to in the above-recited Commission
