NOTICE TO MARINERS.

THE following Notice to Mariners, received from the Chief Harbour Master, Auckland, is published for general information.

BEACON ON RANGITOTO REEF, NORTHERN ENTRANCE TO AUCKLAND HARBOUR.

Auckland, 3rd November, 1873.
NOTICE is hereby given, that an Iron Beacon, surmounted by a Wooden-framed Cage painted White and Red, has been erected on the Outer Rock or Western Extreme of Rangitoto Reef.
The Beacon stands 20 feet above the Rock, which is covered at high water, the Cage showing White on its Western face, and Red on the North-eastern and South-eastern faces.

Provident and Industrial Society registered.
IN the matter of "The Provident and Industrial Societies Act, 1867:" Notice is hereby given, that a transcript of the Rules of
"The Invercargill Co-operative Association, Limited,"
duly certified, has been received by the Registrar of Friendly Societies registered and recorded in his office under the provisions of "The Provident and Industrial Societies Act, 1867."

Letters Patent.
PATENT for Improvements in the Manufacture of Cooking Ranges.
This is to notify, that HARRY DANIEL MANNING, of Christchurch, in the Province of Canterbury, Whitesmith and Gunsmith, did, on the first day of December instant, deposit at the office of the Patent Officer, in the Colonial Secretary's Office in Wellington, a specification or instrument in writing under his hand and seal, particularly describing and ascertaining the nature of the said Invention, and in what manner the same is to be performed; and that by reason of such deposit the said Invention is protected and secured to him exclusively for the term of six calendar months thence next ensuing.
And I do further notify that the said Harry Daniel Manning has given notice in writing at my office of his intention to proceed with his application for Letters Patent for the said Invention, and that I have appointed Friday, the tenth day of April next, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at my office, to hear and consider the said application and all objections thereto; and I do hereby require all persons having an interest in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the sixth day of April, at my office in Wellington, particulars in writing of their objections to the said application, otherwise they will be precluded from urging the same.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICE.
NOTICE is hereby given, that unless caveat be lodged within fourteen days after the date of publication of this notice, I shall register a certain Mortgage of, inter alia, Rural Sections 18640 and 18641, in the Malvern District, in the Province of Canterbury, from AARON AYERS to MARIA PEACOCK and others, and shall dispense with the production of the Licenses to occupy the said Sections.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the parcel of land hereinafter described will be brought under the provisions of "The Land Transfer Act, 1870," unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same within one calendar month from date of gazetting this notice.
JOHN ROBJOHNS and HENRY CHARLES ROBJOHNS, Napier, Applicants.—1 rood 23 perches, part of Town Sections 276 and 278, Napier; commencing at a point in Hastings Street 150 links in a northerly direction from the south-west corner of said Section 278; thence at a right angle easterly 250 links; thence at a right angle northerly 159 links; thence westerly and southerly to the commencing point, and forming a rectangular block.
