THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
Application for Registration of a Trade Mark.
NOTICE is hereby given, that THOMAS FISH,
of Princes Street, Auckland, New Zealand,
Chemist, has applied to register the following Trade
Mark under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866," viz. :-
Description, as nearly as may be, of a Label, Ticket,
Cover, or Trade Mark intended to cover Bottles con-
taining Extract of Sarsaparilla, and to apply to the
the said Extract, proposed to be registered by Thomas
Fish, of Princes Street, Auckland, New Zealand,
Chemist.
The said label, ticket, cover, or trade mark consists
of-First: A bottle cover of blue paper, crested with
seven cut lance-head shaped points, curved towards
the base, each of the said points being two inches and
nine-tenths of an inch long, and each containing
two gilt diamond-shaped figures, and a triangular
figure modified by curvatures on the two upper sides,
and each figure being bordered with gilt lines, and
the whole of the said points being bordered from base
to crest by two gilt lines, the inner of such lines being
broader than the outer. The rest of the blue paper
label is plain, but upon it is to be gummed or pasted-
Second: A white paper label, on which is printed and
written the following words:--" Fish's Compound
Extract of Sarsaparilla, as prescribed
by the late Dr. Stratford. None genuine without
the signature of Thomas Fish, Chemist, Princes
Street, Auckland. For six years Dispenser to Drs.
Stratford and Wright."
The types or characters of the letters composing
the said words are respectively as follows:-The
word "Fish's," in Great Primer Egyptian; the
words "Compound Concentrated," in two-line Non-
pareil Argentine; "Extract of," in Nonpareil capi-
tals; "Sarsaparilla," with a line above, and a double
line below, is printed obliquely in Double English
Condensed Egyptian; "As prescribed by the late Dr.
Stratford" is printed parallel to the said oblique line
in Brevier italics. A scroll fills the angle left between
the oblique lines and the straight line below formed
by the words "None genuine without the signature
of," which words are in Brevier Roman; the said
signature "Thomas Fish" is the proper handwriting
of the applicant; the word "Chemist," in Nonpareil
Ornamental; "Princes Street, Auckland," in Brevier
Compressed Aldine; and the words "For six years
Dispenser to Drs. Stratford and Wright," in Brevier
italic; and the whole of the said white paper label is
bordered by two lines, the broader being on the
outside.
Nature of Article to which such Trade Mark is
intended to apply.

feet, 36 feet, and 119 feet; and thence south-westerly
along said road to the commencing point, 40 feet.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICE.
NOTICE is hereby given, that the parcel of land
hereinafter described will be brought under
the provisions of "The Land Transfer Act, 1870,"
unless caveat in the meantime be lodged forbidding
the same.
All that parcel of land situate in the District of
Omaka, in the Province of Marlborough, containing
eight acres two roods and fourteen perches, more or
less, being Allotment numbered 28 on the sub-
division of Section No. 4, District of Omaka afore-
said. Bounded-towards the North, 1158 links, by
the southern boundary of the Town of Blenheim;
towards the East and South-east, partly by a road
reserved out of the said Section No. 4, and partly by
Allotment No. 5 of said subdivision, 204 links and
769 links respectively; towards the South, 751 links,
by Allotment No. 27 of said subdivision; and to-
wards the West, 856 links, by part of Section No. 6,

Caveat must be lodged within one calendar month
from the date of the publication of this notice in the
Gazette.
