IN virtue of the power delegated to the Commis-
sioner of Customs by His Excellency the
Governor, and in pursuance of the provisions of
"The Civil Service Act, 1866," the following pro-
motion and appointment has been made in the
Customs Department:-

JAMES TYETH HART,
promoted from the fourth to the third class, and
appointed First Clerk and Cashier at Christchurch.
Promotion to take effect from 1st September, 1873.

and construction of Reservoir, Drains, &c., &c.,
at the Quarantine Station, Somes' Island.
General conditions, specifications, and drawings,
may be seen at the Offices of the Colonial Architect,
Wellington.

Tenders will be received by the undersigned up to
noon on Saturday, the 13th of September.
The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICE.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the parcels of land
hereinafter described will be brought under
the provisions of "The Land Transfer Act, 1870,"
unless caveat in the meantime be lodged forbidding
the same.

Parts of Sections 12 (twelve) and 13 (thirteen),
Block IX. (nine), Invercargill.β€”Applicant, JOHN
HARE, of Invercargill aforesaid, Merchant.

Caveat must be lodged within one month after
the gazetting of this notice.

Diagrams may be inspected at this office.

Dated this 25th day of August, 1873, at the Lands
Registry Office, Invercargill.
