Stations for Quarantine appointed.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Public Health Act, 1872,"
it is, among other things, enacted that the
Governor may from time to time, by any order noti-
fied by Proclamation in the Gazette, appoint certain
stations within or near any harbour or place within
New Zealand for the performance of quarantine
under the Third Part of the said Act, where all
vessels liable to quarantine, and the crews, passengers,
and persons on board thereof, shall perform the
same:

And whereas it is expedient that the several
places hereinafter particularly mentioned should be
appointed Quarantine Stations, for the purposes in
the said Act mentioned:

Now therefore, I, Sir James Fergusson, Baronet,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me for that purpose, do by this Proclama-
tion order and appoint that the several places named
and described in the Schedule hereto shall be, and
the same are hereby appointed to be, stations for the
performance of quarantine under the Third Part of
"The Public Health Act, 1872."

SCHEDULE.
NELSON.

THE whole of the island situate at the southern end
of Blind Bay, in the Province of Nelson, Colony of
New Zealand, known as Rabbit Island, containing
2640 acres, more or less, and the water frontage
around the said island within half a mile from its
shores, except on the southern side, where the
boundary is low watermark: Also all that parcel
of land in the Province aforesaid, containing by
admeasurement two hundred and forty acres more,
or less, situated in the District of Astrolabe, Tasman's
Bay, being sections numbered 90 on square 9, and 35
on square 10, on the plan of the Province of Nelson.
Bounded on the North by Crown land (4500 links);

East by low watermark in Astrolabe Roadstead; and
South (4000 links) and West (4900 links and 3100
links) by Crown lands, together with the water
frontage within half a mile of the shores of the said
Reserves.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Right Honorable Sir James Fergusson,
Baronet, a Member of Her Majesty's
Most Honorable Privy Council, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and
its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of
the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at Wellington, this twenty-
sixth day of August, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-three.

Defining Roads from the Arnould River to the
Buller River, and from Ahaura to Amuri, in the
Nelson South-West Gold Fields.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Immigration and Public
Works Act, 1870," it is, amongst other things,
enacted that the Governor, from time to time, by
Proclamation published in the New Zealand Gazette,
may, as to parts within the North Island of New
Zealand, define the roads and the boundaries thereof,
and the bridges and ferries which shall be and be
deemed to be roads, bridges, or ferries, as the case
may be, under the provisions of the said Act, and
any such Proclamation may include existing roads,
but no such roads or parts of roads shall be included
if they are, in the opinion of the Governor in Council,
roads which should be constructed by the Superin-
tendent and the Provincial Council of the Province
wherein such roads are situated, as well as new road
lines; and the Governor from time to time may
