THE following Proclamation issued by His Honor the Superintendent of Auckland, enlarging the boundaries of the Hauraki Gold Mining District, is published for general information.

PROCLAMATION.
By Thomas Bannatyne Gillies, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
IN exercise of the powers delegated to me by His Excellency the Governor, under "The Gold Mining Districts Act, 1871," I, Thomas Bannatyne Gillies, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, do hereby enlarge the boundaries of the Hauraki Gold Mining District, under the said recited Act, so as to include the lands described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
THE block of land known as Omahu No. 1; the block known as Whangamata No. 1; the block known as Whangamata No. 5; the block known as Whangamata No. 3; the block known as Hikutaia No. 3; and the block known as Hikutaia No. 2; as the same are shown on the Native Land Court Maps: Excepting out of the said lands a township reserve at Hikutaia of 321 acres, and a township reserve at Whangamata of 43 acres 3 roods and 28 perches, as the said reserves are marked off on the ground.
Given under my hand and seal at Auckland, at twelve o'clock noon, this twentieth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

CUSTOMS.βWhereas by the seventeenth (17th) section of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Customs Regulation Act, 1858," it is enacted that the Commissioner of Customs may order and direct in which ports or places goods cleared for drawback or from the warehouse shall be carried or waterborne to be put on board any ship for exportation, or goods carried or waterborne from any importing ship to or to be landed at any wharf, quay, or other place, shall be so carried or waterborne only by persons authorized for that purpose by license of the Commissioner:
Now therefore, I, the Commissioner of Customs, in exercise of the power in this behalf given me by the hereinbefore in part recited Act, do hereby order and direct that, from and after the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three, the ports of Napier, Nelson, Westport, Greymouth, Hokitika, and Invercargill, shall be ports in which
