Withdrawing Township Reserves, and reducing others in Area.

(L.S.) A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Westland Waste Lands Act, 1870," it is provided that the Governor may upon
the recommendation of the County Council, approved by the Waste Lands Board, withdraw any
lands as sites for towns, or make such alterations in their boundaries as may be recommended as aforesaid:

And whereas a Select Committee of the County Council having been appointed to consider and report
upon the advisability of lifting certain reserves for townships throughout the County of Westland, reported
that they considered it advisable to make certain alterations in the Township Reserves, as mentioned in the
Schedule attached to such Report:

And whereas, on or about the twenty-third day of February, 1871, the County Council of the County
of Westland adopted the said Report and the recommendations therein contained, and the same were also,
on the eighteenth day of June, 1872, approved by the Waste Lands Board of the said County:

And whereas, in order to give effect to such recommendations and approval, it is expedient that the
lands mentioned in the respective Schedules hereto should be dealt with as hereinafter mentioned:

Now therefore, I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers vested in me by the hereinbefore in part recited Act, and of all powers enabling me
in this behalf, and in accordance with such recommendations as aforesaid, approved as aforesaid, do hereby
withdraw the lands mentioned in the First Schedule hereto from being sites for towns; and in further
pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me as aforesaid, and in accordance with such recommenda-
tions aforesaid, approved as aforesaid, I do hereby make the alterations in the boundaries of the several
townships mentioned in the Second Schedule hereto, so that the area of such townships shall henceforth
only be that set forth in the column of the said Schedule against the name of each such township.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same, at the Government House, at Wellington; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, this seventh day of December, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.
