Ministers in the meaning of this Act: Pro-
vided always that such certificate shall be
attested by two Justices of the Peace, and such
attested certificate shall be sent in to the
Registrar-General or other Officer as aforesaid
anew in the month of December in every
year; and no such attested certificate pre-
sented to any Registrar by any Minister as
aforesaid shall continue in force unless
renewed in like manner.
The provision printed in italics in the foregoing
extract has been amended as follows:-
Sec. 2, Marriage Act Amendment Act, 1868." — "So
much of the forty-second section of 'The
Marriage Act, 1854,' as provides that the
certificate in the said section referred to shall
be attested by two Justices of the Peace is
hereby repealed, and in lieu thereof it is
enacted that the signatures to any such cer-
tificate referred to in the said section of the
said Act shall be attested by some person who
shall verify the same by solemn declaration
before a Justice of the Peace, in the form set
forth in the Schedule hereto, and appended to
such certificate, and signed by such person;
and if any person shall make any such decla-
ration falsely, he shall be guilty of a misde-
meanour."
"SCHEDULE.
"I, A.B., do solemnly and sincerely declare that
all the signatures affixed to the above certifi-
cate are the genuine signatures of the persons
whose they purport to be.
Taken before me this

C.D.,
A Justice of the Peace for the
Colony of New Zealand."
I have therefore to request that, before the termi-
nation of the month of December next ensuing, the
Names of all Officiating Ministers be sent in to me,
duly certified, in order that such Names may be
entered in a List, a copy of which will be published
in the New Zealand Gazette, in the month of January,
1873.

Alterations in Roadway in Cathedral Square,
Christchurch.
RICHARD JAMES STRACHAN HARMAN,
I, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of
Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers conferred
upon the Superintendent by the fifteenth section of
"The Municipal Corporations Act Amendment Act,
1871," do hereby confirm the order made by the
Christchurch City Council on the 21st day of
October, 1872, directing certain alterations of the
Roadway in Cathedral Square to be executed in
accordance with the plans and specifications de-
posited as required by the said Act.
Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this 23rd
day of October, 1872.

"That this Council having already approved of the
alteration of the Roadway in Cathedral Square, the
Works Committee be now instructed to have the
day of works commenced at once, and have the same com-
pleted without delay, in accordance with the plans
agreed to by the Council and the Diocesan Board of
Trustees, the kerbing to be done by the Council
labourers, and the remainder to be advertised for."
