NOTICE.-Judicial Officers and others are in-
formed that Correspondence on subjects con-
nected with the administration of Justice will now be
received by the Hon. the Minister of Justice, and
should be addressed to him, instead of to the Hon.
Colonial Secretary (Judicial Branch), the Attorney-
General, or the Assistant Law Officer.

Establishing Port of Poverty Bay.

IN exercise of the power in me for this purpose
vested by "The Customs Regulation Act,
1858," I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
that, on and from the day of the date hereof, there
shall be within the Province of Auckland a port to
be called

THE PORT OF POVERTY BAY,
the limits whereof shall be as follows:-
The waters of Poverty Bay, inside of a straight line
drawn from Tua-hine, the North Head, to the South
or Young Nick's Head, including the Rivers Turanga-
nui, Koputetea, and Wero Wero; together with the
town site of Gisborne, as delineated on the official
plan of the same.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George, Gover-
nor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same, at the Government House, at
Wellington, this twelfth day of November,
in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-two.

Legal Landing Place at Gisborne.

IN exercise of the power in me for this purpose
vested by "The Customs Regulation Act, 1858,"
I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint that, on
and from the day of the date hereof, the Public Wharf
running out from the Native Reserve, which is
bounded on the North by the Town of Gisborne, and
on the South by the Waikanae Stream, shall be
deemed and taken to be the legal Landing Place at
the Port of Poverty Bay for the lading and un-
lading of goods under "The Customs Regulation
Act, 1858."

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same, at the Government

November, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

Warehousing Port at Poverty Bay.

IN exercise of the power in me for this purpose
vested by "The Customs Regulation Act, 1858,"
I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of the
Port of Poverty Bay shall be a Warehousing Port
for the purposes of "The Customs Regulation Act,
1858," and do hereby approve of the same as a Port
for the importation of Tobacco.

has been appointed Collector of Customs at the
Port of Poverty Bay.

IT is hereby notified, that
GEORGE FREDERICK HARRIS, Esq.,
Collector of Customs, Poverty Bay, has been ap-
pointed an Inspector of Distilleries, under the pro-
visions of "The Distillation Act, 1868."
