PATENT for a "Self-acting Apparatus for saving
Gold or other Substances, by Hydraulic Pressure
and Gravitation combined."
This is to notify, that HENRY JAGGERS, of Inver-
cargill, in the Province of Otago, Tinsmith, and
JAMES BROWN, of Invercargill, in the Province of
Otago, New Zealand, Photographer, did, on the
fourteenth day of September last, deposit at the office
of the Patent Officer, in the Colonial Secretary's
Office, in Wellington, a specification or instrument in
writing under their hands and seals, particularly de-
scribing and ascertaining the nature of the said Inven-
tion, and in what manner the same is to be performed;
and that by reason of such deposit the said Invention
is protected and secured to them exclusively for the
term of six calendar months thence next ensuing.
And I do further notify, that the said Henry
Jaggers and James Brown have given notice in
writing at my office of their intention to proceed
with their application for Letters Patent for the said
Invention, and that I have appointed Friday, the
thirty-first day of January next, at eleven o'clock in
the forenoon, at my office, to hear and consider the
said application and all objections thereto; and I
do hereby require all persons having an interest in
opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to leave,
on or before the twenty-seventh day of January, at
my office in Wellington, particulars in writing of
their objections to the said application, otherwise
they will be precluded from urging the same.
Given under my hand, this fourth day of November,
1872.

THE GRAHAMSTOWN AND TARARU TRAMWAY
COMPANY.
NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with Part
1 of "The Tramways Act, 1872," that I intend
to make application to His Honor the Superinten-
dent of Auckland, on Friday, the twentieth day of
December, 1872, for an order authorizing construc-
tion of a Tramway extending from the existing Tram-
way along Burke Street, Owen Street, Golden Crown
Street, with branches into the Caledonian and Golden
Crown Batteries, and sidings to the Manukau and
Cure Tips, and connecting with line already laid
down in Coromandel Street. Also, Branch along
Upper Pollen and Campbell Streets, next to the
hills, to connect with the Bella Street Tramway,
with the necessary sidings to batteries and claims
adjacent.
I also give notice that the deposit required under
the Schedule to "The Tramways Act, 1872," will be
made on Thursday, the twenty-first day of November,
1872, at the Office of the Registrar of the Supreme
Court, Auckland, at the Office of the Waiotahi Dis-
trict Board, and at the Office of the Superintendent
of Auckland.
The office at which printed copies of the Draft
Order when deposited, and of the Order when made,
will be found, will be at my Office, Beach Road,
Grahamstown.
