I, JOHN MUIR WAYLAND, Registrar of Joint
Stock Companies for the Provinces of Auckland
and Hawke's Bay, in the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby notify that I have registered a Memorandum
of Association, with Articles of Association, estab-
lishing a Company, with limited liability of the
Shareholders therein, entitled

"The Waikato Flax Company, Limited."
The objects for which the Company is established
are, 1. To carry on the cultivation, dressing, pre-
paration, and sale or exportation of flax at Churchill
and Mercer, on the Waikato River, and at such other
places as may be deemed expedient. 2. To manufac-
ture rope, paper, sacking cloth, cattle food, or other
articles from the flax plant, and export or sell the
same. 3. To acquire land and buildings, by purchase
or otherwise, for the requirements of the Company.
4. To purchase, erect, work, hire, or let machinery of
all kinds, connected with the manufacturing of flax,
&c., as specified above. 5. To purchase, build, or hire
steamers, barges, or boats to work in connection with
the flax mills or otherwise. 6. To let, sell, or other-
wise dispose of or deal with any property whatever
of the Company. 7. And to do all such other mat-
ters and things as are incidental or conducive to the
attainment of the above objects.

And that, in pursuance of the provisions of "The
Joint Stock Companies Act, 1860," I have issued a
Certificate of Incorporation of the said Company,
bearing date this twenty-fifth day of September,
1872."
