"MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ACT AMENDMENT
ACT, 1871."
I, EDWARD DENHAM, Registrar of Joint Stock
Companies for the Province of Canterbury, do
hereby notify that I have registered a Memorandum
of Association, with Articles of Association, estab-
lishing a Company, with limited liability of the
Shareholders therein, entitled
NOTICE is hereby given, in accordance with
the provisions of the above Act, that the
Council of the City of Christchurch intend to divert,
alter, and increase the width of that part of Colombo
Street, within the City of Christchurch, which is
generally known as the "Cathedral Square Road-
way;" and that the necessary specifications, maps,
plans, sections, and elevations, showing the extent of
the intended diversion, alteration, and increase of
width of the said Street, have been prepared by the
City Surveyor and approved by the Council, and are
deposited for inspection at the office of the Council.
And notice is hereby given, that all persons affected
by the work and undertaking are required by the
said Act to set forth in writing, addressed to the
Council or the Town Clerk, within forty days from
the publication of this notice in the General Govern-
ment Gazette, and the Government Gazette of the
Province of Canterbury, all objections which they
may have to the said work and undertaking.

The objects for which the Company is established
are expressed to be as follows:-"To purchase or
lease land and to erect buildings thereon suitable to
the purposes of a Club; to furnish and equip the same;
to provide board, lodging, refreshment and other ac-
commodation for the Members of such Club; and the
doing of all such other things as are incidental or
conducive to the attainment of the above objects: or
to apply such land, buildings, and all other property
and assets of the Company to such uses and for such
purposes as shall be determined by the Shareholders
at any General Meeting called specially to authorize
the same."

And I do further notify, that, in pursuance of the
provisions of "The Joint Stock Companies Act,
1860," I have issued a Certificate of Incorporation
of the said Company, bearing date the twenty-second
day of August, 1872.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION. Under and in pur-
suance of the powers vested in me as Commis-
sioner appointed. by His Excellency the Governor to
NOTICE is hereby given, that the several parcels of
land hereinafter described will be brought under
the provisions of "The Land Transfer Act, 1870,"
unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same on or
before the 30th day of September, 1872.

Allotments 9, 10, 15, 16 of Section 32, City of
