I, JOHN MUIR WAYLAND, Registrar of Joint
Stock Companies for the Provinces of Auckland
and Hawke's Bay, in the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby notify that I have registered a Memorandum
of Association, with Articles of Association, estab-
lishing a Company with limited liability of the
shareholders therein, entitled
"The Don Pedro Gold Mining Company, Limited."
The objects for which the Company is established
are-" 1. To carry on mining operations of any
kind upon, within, or under mining property situate
at the Thames Gold Field, in the Province of Auck-
land. 2. To acquire land for mining purposes, by
purchase or otherwise, and to amalgamate with other
claims and companies. 3. To acquire, purchase,
erect, work, hire, and let machinery of all kinds con-
nected with the working of mines, and the rendering
the ores therefrom available. 4. To let, sell, mort-
gage, or otherwise dispose of or deal with, any
property whatever of the Company as the Company
thinks fit. 5. And to do all such other things as are
incidental or conducive to the attainment of the
above objects."
And that, in pursuance of the provisions of "The
Joint Stock Companies Act, 1860," I have issued a
Certificate of Incorporation of the said Company
bearing date this twenty-fifth day of June, 1872.

THE following Notice to Mariners, received from
the Portmaster, Brisbane, is published for general
information.

BRISBANE RIVER.
THE Cutting through the 9-foot bank, above the
Upper Flats, is now completed to a depth of 10 feet
6 inches at low water, and to a width of 200 feet, and
is marked by two triangular beacons painted white,
with a black band down the centre.
To use this Cutting, a vessel should, after crossing
the Upper Flats, keep the south shore on board at
a ship's length, until the two triangular beacons—
PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Canterbury Rivers Act,
1870," it is enacted that the Provincial
Council may, by resolution, from time to time
decide that any part or parts of the Province shall
be constituted a district for the purposes of the said
Act; and that such resolution shall describe the
limits of such district, and designate the name by
which such district shall be known, and mention the
number of Conservators, being not less than three
nor more than five, of which the Board of the
District shall be constituted: And it is further
enacted, that, so soon as the full number of members
of a Board has been filled up as provided by the said
Act, the Superintendent shall, by Proclamation in
the New Zealand Gazette and the Gazette of the
Province, declare the Board to be duly constituted:
And whereas by a resolution passed by the Pro-
vincial Council on the thirty-first day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, it was
decided that a part of the Province as therein de-
scribed should be constituted a district for the
purposes of the said Act, under the name of "The
South Orari District," and that the Board of
Conservators for the said district should consist of
five members: And whereas the full number of the
members of the Board has been filled up as provided
by the said Act:
Now therefore, I, William Rolleston, Super-
intendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pur-
suance of the powers so vested in me as aforesaid,
do hereby declare the Board of Conservators for
the South Orari District to be duly constituted.
Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this
twentieth day of June, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-two.
