A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the thirty-second section of "The
Westland Waste Lands Act, 1870," it is
enacted that the sites of towns shall from time to
time be determined by the Governor, upon the
recommendation of the County Council, and shall be
notified by Proclamation in the County of Westland
Gazette : And whereas the said County Council
has recommended that the land described in the
Schedule hereto should be a site for a town within
the meaning of the said section of the said Act :
Now therefore, I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
G.C.M.G., Governor of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling
me in this behalf, do hereby determine and fix the
land described in the Schedule hereto to be a site for
a town within the meaning of the thirty-second
section of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
Kokatahi Township.
Situate on the Kokatahi Flats, and containing two
hundred and fifty (250) acres, more or less. Bounded
-on the Northward by Section No. 1,129 (rural)
and by Duck Creek; on the Eastward by F.D. line ;
and on the Southward and Westward by lines re-
spectively averaging distances of fifty (50) chains
from the other defined boundaries.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at Wellington,
this twentieth day of December, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-one.

IT is hereby notified, th, in conformity with
Clause 133 of "The Lunicipal Corporations
Act, 1867," the names of the ader-mentioned persons
have been sent in to this off ce by the Town Clerks
as the names of those who have been elected Mayors
for the Boroughs set opposite their names :-

posal, and Occupation of Lands taken under the
provisions of "The New Zealand Settlements Act,
1863," and "The New Zealand Settlements Amend-
ment and Continuance Act, 1865," and which said
Regulations are contained in the Schedule to an
Order in Council made and issued on the eleventh
day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
first of June in the same year: It is hereby notified,
that the parcel of land specified in the Schedulo
