o'clock p.m. on Friday, the 10th day of Novem-
ber, from persons willing to furnish the under-
mentioned Articles in such quantities as may be
specified in the Schedules, or as may from time to
time be required by the New Zealand Government,
during twelve calendar months, commencing on the
1st June, 1872.
Schedule I.-Writing and Printing Papers, En-
velopes, Printing Materials, &c.
Schedule II.-Account Books, Press Copying
Books, &c.
Schedule III.-Miscellaneous Stationery, Sur-
veyors' Drawing Materials, Colours, &c.
GENERAL CONDITIONS.
Separate tenders will be received for each Schedule,
but they must include the whole of the articles
therein mentioned, and a separate price must be
stated for each article. The net weight or quantity
only will be paid for. The value of all necessary
packages, &c., whether bulk be broken or not, must
be included in the prices stated in the Contractor's
tender; all such packages, &c., to be considered the
property of the Government, and no charges or
expenses whatsoever beyond the price tendered and
set out in the Schedule will be allowed to the Con-
tractor for any articles or packages, &c.
Contractors must provide, without extra charge,
whatever labour may be required in the packing of
stores.
The articles must be in every respect of the best
description, and of the particular manufacture indi-
cated in the Schedules.
In the case of different makers' goods, the Con-
tractor will be required to supply the kind ordered.
The Contractor will be required to furnish his
account in the prescribed form simultaneously with
delivery of the full quantity of goods ordered, the
account being rendered with the order to which it
relates.
The acceptance of the supplies will be subject to
the approval of the Officers in the various Provinces
appointed by the Government. The Contractor may,
however, claim a survey on any goods objected to;
but in that case he must, without delay, give notice
thereof in writing to the Officer rejecting the goods.
Delivery will not be deemed to have been made
until the goods have been approved of. All articles
rejected must be immediately replaced by the Con-
tractor, otherwise purchases will be effected at the
Contractor's risk, and the extra expense incurred over
and above the contract price (if any) will be deducted
from the Contractor's account.
In the event of any alteration in the tariff affecting
any of the items included in the contract, the Govern-
ment or the Contractor, as the case may be, will make
a proportional allowance by way of deduction from,
or increase of, the price of the item so affected.
Security must be given for the amounts hereinafter
specified under the respective Schedules, which
security must be completed within one month from
the date of the acceptance of the tender; failing
which, the contract may be again advertised, or another
tender accepted.
Tenderers failing to take up their accepted tenders
will be disqualified from tendering for Government
supplies for a period of twelve months.
The Government will not necessarily accept the
lowest or any tender.
All tenders must be enclosed in a separate envelope,
marked "Tender for

and be deposited in the Tender Box at the Colonial
Secretary's Office, Wellington, or (if sent by post)
must be addressed to the Hon. the Colonial Secretary,
Wellington.

form of tender, may be obtained on application to the
Government Printer, Wellington.
