under the provisions of "The Land Transfer Act,
1870," unless caveat in the meantime be lodged for-

at a point on southern boundary of lot, 6 chains
from south-east corner; thence North at a right
angle, 250 links; thence West at a right angle, 111

PATENT for "Improved Processes and Apparatus
for disintegrating, softening, washing, and bleach-
ing Wood, Straw, Esparto Grass, and other Vegetable
Fibres, and for extracting resin, silica, or other sub-
stances therefrom, which Invention is chiefly designed
for manufacturing such fibres into Paper pulp."

This is to notify, that William Riddell, of London,
England, Civil Engineer, did, on the 24th day of
July last, deposit at the office of the Patent Officer,
in the Colonial Secretary's Office, in Wellington, a
specification or instrument in writing under his hand
and seal, particularly describing and ascertaining the
nature of the said Invention, and in what manner the
same is to be performed; and that by reason of such
deposit the said Invention is protected and secured to
him exclusively for the term of six calendar months
thence next ensuing.

And I do further notify, that the said William
Riddell has given notice in writing at my office of his
intention to proceed with the application for Letters
Patent for the said Invention, and that I have ap-
pointed Friday, the 15th day of December next, at
12 o'clock noon, at my office, to hear and consider
the said application and all objections thereto; and
I do hereby require all persons having an interest in
opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to leave, on
or before the 11th day of December, at my office in
Wellington, particulars in writing of their objections
to the said application, otherwise they will be pre-
cluded from urging the same.
