A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Weights and Measures Act,
1868," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Governor from time to time to appoint one
Inspector of Weights and Measures for any Province,
County, Borough, or District, or for each of two or
more divisions of any Province, County, Borough, or
District, the boundaries of which divisions shall be
proclaimed from time to time in the New Zealand
Gazette by the Governor: And whereas it is ex-
pedient that Inspectors should be appointed for the
divisions of the Province of Auckland, the boundaries
whereof are set forth in the Schedule hereto, and
that the boundaries of such divisions should be pro-
claimed:
Now therefore, I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
G.C.M.G., Governor of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the power and authority conferred on
me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare
that for the purposes of the said Act there shall be
within the said Province of Auckland divisions or
districts, the boundaries whereof shall be the bound-
aries set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
THE AUCKLAND WEIGHTS AND MEASURES DISTRICT.
Bounded towards the North by high watermark of
Waitemata Harbour, the waters of Hobson's Bay and
Orakei Creek, from the Whau River to the eastern
boundary of section No. 16 of the suburbs of Auck-
land; towards the East and South-east by the eastern
boundary of section No. 16 aforesaid, from Orakei
Creek to the Tamaki Road; thence by the Tamaki
Road aforesaid to the Ellerslie and Epsom Road, and
by said last-named road to the Auckland and One-
hunga Road; thence by the Auckland and Onehunga
Road aforesaid to the northern boundary of the Town
of Onehunga; thence by part of the northern and the
whole of the western boundary of the Town of One-
hunga aforesaid, to the Onehunga or Manukau Har-
bour; towards the South by high watermark of the
Onehunga or Manukau Harbour aforesaid, from the
western boundary of the Town of Onehunga to the
Whau Portage Road; and towards the West by the
Whau Portage Road aforesaid, from the Onehunga
or Manukau Harbour to the Whau River, and by
said last-named river to the Waitemata Harbour, the
boundary first described.
THE OTAHUHU WEIGHTS AND MEASURES DISTRICT.
Bounded towards the North by high watermark of
the Waitemata Harbour, from the eastern point of
Hobson's Bay to the Wairoa River; towards the East
by the Wairoa River aforesaid, from Waitemata
Harbour to the southern boundary of the Parish of
Hunua; towards the South and South-west by the
southern boundary of the Parish of Hunua aforesaid,
from the Wairoa River to the south-eastern boundary
of allotment No. 46 of the Parish of Opaheke;
thence by parts of the south-eastern and south-
western boundaries of allotment No. 46 aforesaid,
the south-eastern boundary of allotment No. 38, and
the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of
allotment No. 36, both of the Parish of Opaheke
aforesaid, to the Hingahia Creek; thence by the
waters of the Hingahia and Pahurehure Creeks, and
high watermark of the Onehunga or Manukau Har-
bour, to the western boundary of the Town of
Onehunga; and towards the West by the western and
part of the northern boundary of the Town of One-
hunga aforesaid, to the Auckland and Onehunga Road;
thence by said road to the Ellerslie and Epsom Road,
and by the Ellerslie and Epsom Road aforesaid to the
Tamaki Road, and by said last-named road to the
south-eastern angle of the eastern boundary of sec-
tion No. 16 of the Suburbs of Auckland; thence by
the eastern boundary of section No. 16 aforesaid,
and Orakei Creek and Hobson's Bay, to the place of
commencement on the Waitemata Harbour.

Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony at Wellington,
this thirty-first day of August, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-one.
