thence the road deviates into and is bounded on
both sides by the Railway Reserve, crossing the
South Road, passing through and bounded on both
sides by part of section 195, being the property or sup-
posed to be the property of one Andrew Middlemas,
which portion of the road passing through the said
section No. 195 is shown upon a certain plan marked
No. 5, and thereon coloured yellow, and deposited in
the Office of the Public Works Department, Wel-
lington, and which plan marked No. 5 is authenti-
cated for the purpose of this Proclamation in the
manner aforesaid; thence along the South Road,
bounded on the North by the Railway Reserve, 4306
links, by the ten-acre lots at Hawera, Nos. 31, 28,
by public road, by lots 25 and 22, by public road, by
lots 17 and 16, by public road by lots 13 and 10, by
public road, by lots 7 and 4, by public road and by
lot 1, by Railway Reserve, by Waihi Road, by Rail-
way Reserve, 3700 links; thence the road slightly
deviates into and is bounded on both sides by sec-
tions 156 and 155, being the property or supposed to
be the property of one James Mitchell, which portion
of the road passing into the said sections 156 and
155, is shown upon a certain plan marked No. 6, and
thereon coloured yellow, and deposited in the Office
of the Public Works Department, Wellington, and
which plan marked No.6 is authenticated for the
purpose of this Proclamation in the manner afore
said; thence along the South Road, bounded on the
North by the Railway Reserve, 2674 links; thence
the road deviates from the said South Road and
proceeds through and is bounded on both sides by
the Railway Reserve, crossing the Waihi Stream
Railway Reserve, Ketemarae Road, Railway Reserve,
which bounds it on both sides, and the South Road;
thence deviating slightly into and bounded on
both sides by section No. 96, the property or
supposed to be the property of one George McLean,
which portion of the road passing into said section
No. 96 is shown upon a certain plan marked No.7,
and thereon coloured yellow, which plan is deposited
in the Office of the Public Works Department, Wel-
lington, and authenticated for the purpose of this
Proclamation in the manner aforesaid; and thence
to the Waingongoro River

through Railway Reserve, crossing South Road,
through the Railway Reserve, crossing Manawapou
River, through Railway Reserve, and section 332
before mentioned; thence through Railway Reserve,
intersecting the South Road; thence along the South
Road, bounded on the South by Railway Reserve,
2820 links, by the ten-acre lots at Manutahi, No. 1
by public road, by lots 10 and 11, by public
road, by lots 12, 13, and 14, by Railway
Reserve, 1996 links; thence the road deviates
through the Railway Reserve, crossing the Manutahi
Gorge, Manutahi Road, into the South Road; thence
along the South Road to its deviation into the
Railway Reserve; thence through Railway Reserve
to the South Road at " Maori Bridge;" thence along
the South Road, bounded on the South by Railway
Reserve, by Ball Road, by Railway Reserve, by Spence
Road, by Railway Reserve; thence the road deviates
through the Reserve 475, and joins the South Road
opposite the western boundary of the Kakaramea
township; thence along the South Road to the
Kakaramea Road; thence along the Kakaramea
Road, in a southerly direction. Bounded on the
West by Railway Reserve, sections 476, and part of
477 to the Taranaki Road; thence in a south-easterly
direction along the said Taranaki Road, bounded
on the West by a road, and sections 59, 58, 11, 13,
15, 17, 19, 21, 23, and 26, by a public road, by
sections 30 and 34, by a public road, by sections 38
and 42, by public road, by sections 44, 46, and 66;
thence in an easterly direction through the township
of Carlyle, along Bedford Street, bounded on the
South by block 22, by Devon Street, by block 23,
by Cornwall Street, by block 24, by Kent Street, by
block 25, by York Street; thence through block 21
of the said township, crossing the Patea River, and
proceeding in a northerly and easterly direction,
through Crown lands, Railway Reserve, crossing the
boundary line of the Provinces of Taranaki and
Wellington, through the Railway Reserve, crossing
the Whenuakura River, through the Railway Reserve
to the Weraroa Road, as before described; thence
along the Weraroa Road, in a general easterly
direction, bounded on the South by Railway
Reserve, by Whenuakura Road, by Railway Reserve,
by Ihupuku Road, by Railway Reserve; thence
deviating through the Wairoa Town Belt Reserve
before described; thence along the Weraroa Road,
bounded by Railway Reserve, by Oturi Road,
by Railway Reserve, by Herengawe Road, by.
Railway Reserve, by Waiau Road, by Railway Re-
serve, by Okotuku Road, by Railway Reserve to where
the road deviates near the south-east corner of
section 44, through a portion of the land awarded
by the Native Lands Court to Haata Rio and others,
the Weraroa Road, thence crossing the Weraroa
Road through the Railway Reserve, crossing the
public roadway leading into the Ihupuku Road,
through the Railway Reserve to the opposite side
of the road at the western boundary of the allot-
ment at present in the occupation of one William
Henry Shepard before described; thence on the South
by the Railway Reserve and allotment at present in
the occupation of one Thomas Kells to the Waitotara
River; thence crossing the said river and proceeding
in an easterly direction through lands before described
to the eastern boundary of Native Reserve No. 2,
Pakaraka; thence the road is bounded on the South
by section 42, and by Native Reserve No. 1, Tuki-
tuki, to the Okehu Stream: thence through section
No. 667 to the boundary line between the Wanganui
purchased Block and the Kai Iwi Block on the opposite
side of the road from where this description com-
mences; which said road line from Kai Iwi to the
Waingongoro River is delineated by a red line on
the plan referred to in the body of this Proclamation
mences

Returning, the said road commences at the said Wain-
gongoro River, deviating slightly through said sec-
tion No. 96, in a general easterly direction, joining
the South Road at a point 450 links from the
said river, crossing the South Road, through the
Railway Reserve, crossing Ketemarae Road through
the Railway Reserve, crossing Waihi Stream to
through Railway Reserve to the South Road; thence
along the South Road, bounded on the South by
part of section 154, 1766 links; by part of 155,
910 links; thence the road slightly deviates into part
of sections 155 and 156 before mentioned, 1020 links;
thence along the South Road, bounded on the South
by part of section 156, 910 links, by 157 and 158, by
Waihi Road, by section 213, by Manawapou Road,
by sections 189 and 190, by Tawiti Road, by sections
191, 192, 193 and 194, and by part of section 195,776
links; thence the road deviates through part of section
195 before mentioned, 1245 links; crosses the South
Road, 450 links, from the north-east corner of said
section deviates into the Railway Reserve and joins
the South Road; thence along the South Road.
Bounded on the South by part of section 196, 800
links, by Whareroa Road, by sections 197, 198, 199,
200, and 201, by Hawera Road, by 202 and 205, by
part of 206, 813 links; thence the said road deviates
through Railway Reserve, crossing Tangahoe River,
