Colony of New Zealand, Watchmaker, do solemnly
and sincerely declare that all the signatures initialled
by me with the letters "J.W.R.," affixed to the
annexed petition marked A, are the genuine signa-
tures of the persons whose they purport to be, and
that such persons are Inhabitant Householders of
the district therein referred to; and I make this
solemn declaration conscientiously believing the
same to be true, and by virtue of an Act of the
General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The
Justices of the Peace Act, 1866."

NOTICE.
NOTICE is hereby given, that the Governor of
New Zealand having, under the powers in him
vested by "The Immigration and Public Works Act,
1870," deemed it expedient to open and make a new
line of road from Tauranga to Oropi, which road is
in the opinion of the Governor and the Executive
Council of the Colony not a road to be constructed
by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the
Province of Auckland, and the course and bearings
of which said road, the admeasurements required for
the same, and the lands through which the same
passes, together with the names of the owners and
occupiers thereof, so far as known, are respectively
shown and delineated on certain plans marked Nos.
1, 2, and 3, and which said road is also described in
certain Proclamations made under the said Act, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 27, of
13th May, and No. 38, of 4th July, 1871.
Copies of the said plans marked Nos. 1, 2, and 3
are deposited and may be seen and inspected at the
Office of the Public Works Department, General
Government Buildings, at Tauranga, in the said
Province.
And notice is hereby further given, that all or any
person or persons affected by the making of the said
line of road from Tauranga to Oropi are required to
set forth in writing addressed to the Governor, and
left at the Office of the said Public Works Depart-
ment, General Government Buildings, at Tauranga,
within forty days from the first publication hereof,
any well-grounded objections he or they may have to
the said line of road.
