HEREAS by the Regulations for the sale and disposal of lands taken under the authority of "The
New Zealand Settlements Act, 1863," and "The New Zealand Settlements Amendment and Con-
tinuance Act, 1865," contained in the Schedule to an Order in Council made and issued, bearing date the
13th day of April, 1870, it is provided that reserves for roads, and all other public purposes whatever, and
for education, and the sites for churches and chapels or other places of worship for different religious
denominations, may be made by Government out of any confiscated lands, and that notices of all such reserves
shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette: It is hereby notified, that the lands specified in the
Schedule hereunder written shall be reserved for the purposes therein mentioned, and set opposite the
descriptions of the said parcels of land respectively.

SCHEDULE.

PROVINCE OF TARANAKI.—PATEA DISTRICT.
Hawera Sections.
All that parcel of land, containing by admeasurement
five (5) acres and four (4) perches, more or less, being the
southern half of Section 19 on the Record Plan of the
survey of the Hawera Sections. Bounded towards the
North by a road seven hundred and forty (740) links;
towards the East by section 20, six hundred and seventy-
nine (679) links; towards the South by section 18, seven
hundred and forty (740) links; and towards the West by
a road, six hundred and seventy-nine (679) links.
For a site for Telegraph Station, or other
purposes of the General Government.

PROVINCE OF TARANAKI.—TOWNSHIP OF RALEIGH.
(West Bank.)
All that parcel of land, being Section No. 1, Block
LXIII.
All that parcel of land, being Section No. 2, Block LIII.
All that parcel of land, being Section No. 12, Block
XXXIII.
All that parcel of land, being Section No. 2, Block LX.
For Religious Bodies.
Church of England.
Wesleyans.
Roman Catholics.
Kirk of Scotland.

All that parcel of land, being Section No. 11, Block XX.
All that parcel of land, being Section No. 11, Block

PROVINCE OF TARANAKI.— TOWNSHIP OF RALEIGH.
(West Bank.)
All that parcel of land, being Sections Nos. 10 and 12
Block XLIV.
All that parcel of land, bounded towards the North-west
by Cameron Street; towards the North-east by Browne
Street; towards the South-east by Whitaker Street; and
towards the South-west by Cracroft Street.
All that parcel of land, bounded towards the North-west
and North-east by West Quay; towards the South-east
by Stafford Street; and towards the South-west by Queen
Street.
(East Bank.)
All that parcel of land, being Sections Nos. 5, 6, 7, 8,
9, 10, and 12, Block XX.
As sites for buildings or other purposes of
the General Government.

THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
SUBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of £2
per annum, or 10s. 6d. per quarter, payable in advance.
An extra subscription of 10s. to the Gazette will entitle each
yearly subscriber to the Acts of the General Assembly as pub-
lished during the year.
Subscriptions are required to terminate with the quarters
ending March, June, September, or December. A less period
than three months cannot be subscribed for.
Single copies of the Gazette will be 1s. each.
ADVERTISEMENTS will be charged for according to the
following scale:—
For the first fifty words and under
For every eight words after the first fifty...
Headings, date lines, signatures, &c., re-
quiring to be printed in separate lines, to
be charged at, per line
Half-yearly Statements of Assets and
Liabilities of Mining Companies, &c.....

The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper
and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.
All applications for subscription or for the insertion of private
advertisements in the New Zealand Gazette, except from places
where agents have been appointed for that purpose, should be
addressed to the Government Printer, Wellington, and at the
same time, pre-payment (by money order when necessary) at
the above rates must be made to him.
Postage or duty stamps cannot in any case be received in
payment from any place at which post office orders are issued,
and under any circumstances are subject to a deduction at the
rate of one shilling in the pound.
Agents are appointed to receive advertisements for the New
Zealand Gazette
at the following places:—

Thames—John Robinson, Esq., Receiver of Gold Revenue.
