Public Revenues Act, 1867," I, Sir George
Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby appoint the under-mentioned
person to be Paymaster for Native Services for the
district hereinafter specified:

Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,

FREDERIC HENRY MELVILLE WALKER, Esq.,
to be Deputy Registrar of Marriages, and of Births,
Deaths, and Marriages, for the District of Mount
Grey, as the same is defined in Proclamation of 30th
September, 1867, and published in New Zealand
Gazette, No. 49, of 3rd October, 1867.

NOTICE. - Whereas a Fire, supposed to have been
caused by the act of an incendiary, occurred at
an early hour on the 26th day of December last, in
Cashel and Colombo Streets, at Christchurch, in the
Province of Canterbury, by which the premises
occupied or owned by Messrs. Beath and Co., Law
Brothers, and Messrs. Pratt, Sutherland, Duncan
and Sons, Wood, Cunningham, and Peter Duncan,

respectively, were wholly or partially destroyed;
and whereas a further attempt was made to burn
down the premises of Messrs. Heywood Brothers, in
Colombo Street, on the 22nd of January, 1870, -it
is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor
will grant a free pardon to any accomplice in such
acts, or either of them, not being a principal offender,
who shall give such information as will lead to the
apprehension and conviction of the principal offender
or offenders.

THOMAS ALFRED SNEYD KYNNERSLEY, Esq.,
to be a Resident Magistrate, under "The Resident
Magistrates Act, 1867," for the District of Nelson
South-west Gold Fields, and as such to exercise the
extended jurisdiction conferred on the Courts of the
said District.

NOTICE TO CLOTH MANUFACTURERS IN THE
COLONY OF NEW ZEALAND.

SEALED Tenders will be received at the Inspector
of Stores' Office, Wellington, up to 12 o'clock
noon of the 20th May, 1870, for the supply of the
under-mentioned goods, to be manufactured in the
Colony of New Zealand, quality and texture of
material to be the same as per samples, which can be
seen at the various Militia Offices throughout the
Colony.

Twenty-five per centage of the quantity ordered
to be delivered to the Colonial Storekeeper, at Wel-
lington, within eighteen months from the date of the
tender being accepted; the remainder to be delivered
at the same place and in similar quantities every six
months until the contract is completed.

10,000 yards Blue Serge, ) Tender to state whether
2,000 yards White Flan- } single or double width,
nel, for shirts
and at rate per yard.
2,000 Blankets, size 7ft.
3in. x 5ft. 3in.
} At rate per Blanket.

Bonds, with two sufficient securities to be named,
will have to be entered into. The amount of the
Bond to be fixed by the Government.
The lowest or any tender not necessarily ac-
cepted.
