Gazette of the 27th October last, No. 60, and
in virtue of the powers delegated by His Excellency
the Governor to the Postmaster-General under
"The Post Office Act, 1858," notice is hereby given
that on and after the 1st of January next, and until
further notice, the Commission on Money Orders
issued in New Zealand on the United Kingdom will
be charged at the old rates, viz.:---

For sums not exceeding £2 ... 1s.
For sums exceeding £2 and not exceeding £5, 2s. 6d.
For sums exceeding £5 and not exceeding £7, 3s. 6d.
For sums exceeding £7 and not exceeding £10, 5s.

attend the transmission through France of Overland
Mails addressed via Marseilles, the Postmaster-
General of London has determined on sending Mails
so addressed, until further notice, via Brindisi, Bren-
ner, Prussia, and Belgium.

The rates of postage to be charged in New
Zealand on Correspondence for the United Kingdom

Letters.
Not exceeding ½ oz. ... ... ... s. d.
Exceeding ½ oz. and not exceeding 1 oz. ... 2 3
Exceeding 1 oz. and not exceeding 1½ oz. ... 3 9
And so on, 1s. 3d. for every additional ½ oz. or
fraction of ½ oz.

Book and Pattern Parcels.

WILLIAM TAYLOR, late a Sergeant in the 2nd
Company of the Forest Rangers, deceased.
Under the provisions of "The Public Payments
without Probate Act, 1869," and the Regulations
made thereunder, published in the New Zealand
Gazette of 1870, page 212, the Colonial Treasurer
intends to make a payment of money due to the
above-named deceased, to a person not being his legal
representative. All persons objecting to such pay-
ment being made must give notice to the Colonial
Treasurer, at Wellington, within one calendar month
from the date of the Gazette containing this notice,
when their objections will be considered.
