NOTICE.

Colonial Secretary's Office,
Wellington, 15th December, 1870.

WHEREAS by "The Census Acts Amendment
Act, 1867," it is enacted that, in addition to
the General Census provided for in "The Census
Act, 1858," as amended by "The Census Acts
Amendment Act, 1860," and the said "Census Acts
Amendment Act, 1867," an account shall be taken
in the month of February, in the year one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-nine, and in the same month,
or in such other month as the Governor shall from
time to time appoint in every succeeding year, of the
land in cultivation within New Zealand, and of the
agricultural produce thereof:

Now therefore, I do hereby notify, that the Enu-
merators and Sub-Enumerators appointed or to be
appointed under the said Acts for the collection of
the next General Census shall be also respectively
Superintendent-Collectors and Collectors for obtain-
ing the information above referred to, and shall,
during the month of February, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-one, obtain such information
according to Forms and Instructions which will be
issued by the Government for the purpose.

(under the Census Acts), and

SUPERINTENDENT COLLECTORS
(under "The Census Acts Amendment Act, 1867"),
a notification of whose appointments appears in this
Gazette, or whose appointments may be hereafter
notified in any subsequent Gazette, to frank and
receive, free from prepayment of postage, for a period
of six months from this date, Letters or Packets
addressed from or to them "On Census Business
Only," or "On Business of Agricultural Statistics
Only."

General Assembly of New Zealand, passed in
the eighteenth year of the reign of Her Majesty
Queen Victoria, and intituled "The Marriage Act,
1854," the following names of Officiating Ministers,
within the meaning of the said Act, are published for
general information :-

The Reverend LAURENCE CARSLEY BRADY.
The Reverend EZRA ROBERT OTWAY.
The Reverend ALEXANDER CHALMERS SOUTAR.

I, JOHN B. BENNETT, Registrar-General of Births,
Deaths, and Marriages in New Zealand, do hereby
certify that the foregoing NAMES of OFFICIATING
MINISTERS, within the meaning of "The Marriage
Act, 1854," have been sent in to me in addition to
the names in Lists published in the New Zealand
Gazette, No. 6, of the 29th of January; No 7, of
the 5th of February; No. 13, of the 12th of March;
No. 21, of the 20th of April; No. 23, of the 4th
of May; No. 24, of the 12th of May; No. 26, of
the 26th of May; No. 29, of the 8th of June; No. 35,
