And whereas by virtue of a Crown Grant bearing
date the sixth day of July, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy, the parcel of land and heredita-
ments described in the Schedule hereto became vested
in Rahui, Hori Panapa, and Wiremu Apo Te
Whakaotinga, of the district of Mahurangi, in the
Province of Auckland, aboriginal natives of New
Zealand: And whereas the said Wiremu Apo Te
Whakaotinga is an infant under the age of twenty-
one years:
Now therefore, His Excellency Sir George
Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand,
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the Colony, in exercise and in pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the said
Act, doth hereby order that the lands described in
the Schedule hereto shall be and remain vested in
Arama Karaka, of Kaipara, aboriginal native of New
Zealand, and John Sheehan, of Kaipara, as trustees
within the meaning and for the purposes of the said
Act, for the said Wiremu Apo Te Whakaotinga, his
heirs and assigns.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in our Province of Auck-
land, in our Colony of New Zealand, containing by
admeasurement thirty-one thousand four hundred and
eight (31,408) acres, more or less, situate at Mahu-
rangi, in the District of Mahurangi, County of
Marsden, being called or known by the name of
Pakiri, and numbered one thousand four hundred
and fifty-six (1,456); bounded towards the North-
east by the sea; towards the South-east by the
Pakiri River by lines eight thousand four hundred
(8,400) links, one thousand eight hundred and five
(1,805) links, thirty-six thousand two hundred and
thirty (36,230) links, and two thousand four hundred
(2,400) links by the Whangaripo Creek and by the
Hoteo River; towards the South-west by the Hoteo
Block, eight thousand five hundred and thirty-six
(8,536) links, and twenty-seven thousand one hundred
and thirty-seven (27,137) links; and towards the
North-west by the Oruawharo Block, fourteen thou-
sand three hundred and twenty (14,320) links,
sixteen thousand two hundred and fifteen (16,215)
links, three thousand one hundred and seventy-eight
(3,178) links, and six thousand eight hundred and
seventy-four (6,874) links; and by the Arai Block,
five thousand five hundred and sixty (5,560) links,
fifty-one thousand six hundred and sixty eight
(51,668) links, and fourteen thousand seven hundred
and eighty (14,780) links.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-first day of September, 1870.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," it
is amongst other things enacted that it shall
be lawful for the Governor, by Order in Council, from
time to time to constitute for any Gold Field, or for
any part thereof, Wardens' Courts, for the adminis-
tration of justice therein, and to appoint Wardens of
such Courts, with power to act alone or with as-
sessors, and in such manner, and to exercise all or
any of the powers thereinafter mentioned, as the
Governor shall think fit to direct:
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, doth hereby, in pursuance
and exercise of the power and authority vested in
him for this purpose, appoint
LOWTHER BROAD, Esq.,
to be a Warden of all Wardens' Courts now consti-
tuted within the Nelson South-west Gold Fields,
with power to him to act alone or with assessors, and
to exercise all or any of the powers vested in or im-
posed on Judges of Wardens' Courts.

the Governor's pleasure thereon, intituled

wood's Pass Compulsory Land Taking Act,
1870;"
"The Picton Wharf Leasing Act, 1870;"
"The Marlborough Acts Amendment Act, 1870;"
"The Education Act, 1870;" and
"The Wairau Bridge Act, 1870;"
having been laid before the Governor, His Excellency
has been pleased to assent to the same.

Martell, Gabriel Frederick Charles Martell,
Jean Constantine Edouard Martell, and Ernest
Gabriel Martell, all of Cognac, in the Department of
Charente, in the Empire of France, Brandy Merchants
and Exporters of Brandy, carrying on business under
the style or firm of "Martell & Co.," have applied to
register the following trade marks:-
For Brandy in Bottle-
An oblong label containing the words "Old
Brandy" printed white on blue ground, with a
coat of arms and crest between the words
"Old" and "Brandy;" "J. & F. Martell"
underneath, printed white on blue ground;
"Cognac" underneath, printed white on blue
ground; together with a capsule of blue lead
foil, bearing the words "J. & F. Martell,
Cognac;" with the same arms and crest as on
the label in the centre, surrounded by the same
words.
