H IS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
grant Letters of Registration, under "The
Patents Act, 1860," dated the 2nd instant, in favour
of
JAMES EGLINTON ANDERSON GWYNNE,
of the Essex Street Works, Strand, in the County of
Middlesex, England, Engineer, of Letters Patent,
dated 1st day of December, 1869, assigned to him by
Arthur Charles Henderson, of No. 31, Charing Cross,
in the said County of Middlesex, by Deed of Assign-
ment dated 11th day of April, 1870, for an Invention
communicated to him from abroad by Thos. Pilter,
of Paris, in the Empire of France, for "Improve-
ments in Apparatus for Shearing or Clipping Animals,
the said Apparatus being also applicable to Shaving
Skins."

of Nelson, in the Colony of New Zealand, Flax-
dresser, for an Invention of "An Apparatus for the
Prevention of Fire taking place from Spontaneous
Combustion in Ships, Stores, Warehouses, and other
buildings stowed or stored with Wool, Flax, or
other Fibres."
