election of a Member of the House of Represen-
tatives for the Electoral District of Westland North
has been returned with an indorsement to the effect

of Nelson, Miner's Right, has been duly elected.

Description.-Irishman; aged about 48 years;
height, 5 feet 9 inches; very stout build; large dark
beard and whiskers; of gentlemanly appearance.
He was for a short time in the Military Settlers in
the Province of Hawke's Bay, whence he proceeded
to Wellington.
