the Governor in Council, by Warrant under his hand,
to the Superintendent of any Province:"

Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir George Fergu-
son Bowen, G.C.M.G., in exercise of the power and
authority so vested in him as Governor as aforesaid,
doth by this Order in Council delegate to

WILLIAM WOOD, Esq.,
Superintendent of the Province of Southland, so long
and so long only as he shall continue to be such
Superintendent, all the powers which, by the said
fifth section of the said Amendment Act, the Governor
in Council is authorized so to delegate.

Southland, shall be exercised by the Superintendent
of such Province.

WHEREAS by "The Protection of Animals Act,
1867," it is enacted that the Governor may,
by Order in Council published in the New Zealand
Gazette, delegate to the Superintendent of any Pro-
vince all or any of the powers by the said Act vested
in the Governor or the Governor in Council, subject
to such regulations as he may think fit, and may from
time to time rescind such delegation:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council, doth hereby delegate unto

WILLIAM WOOD, Esq.,
Superintendent of the Province of Southland, so long
as he shall continue and remain Superintendent of
the said Province, all the powers vested by the said
Act in the Governor or the Governor in Council, to
be exercised only in respect of the said Province.

performed by the Governor, or the Governor in
Council, or the Colonial Secretary, by the said Act,
within any Province or other District of the Colony,
shall be exercised or performed by the Superintendent
of any such Province, or by any other person the
Governor may think fit; and thereupon such func-
tions, powers, duties, and authorities may, by such
Superintendent or other person, be exercised or per-
formed within the Province or other District of the
Colony specified:

WHEREAS by the eleventh section of "The
Public Domains Act, 1860," it is enacted that
the Governor may, from time to time, by Order in
Council, delegate all or any of the powers thereby
conferred to any person for any period, and subject
to such stipulations as may be specified in such
Order, and that every such delegation may, from
time to time, in like manner be altered or revoked :

And whereas it is enacted by "The Public Domains
Act Amendment Act, 1865," that the word "person"
in the said eleventh section of the said Act shall be
deemed to include more persons than one :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council, doth by this present Order revoke the dele-
gation under the said Act contained in an Order
in Council dated the sixth day of November, one
