THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Council, from time to time delegate all or any of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the said Act
unto any person or persons, for any period, and
subject to any regulations, restrictions, or stipulations
which may be specified in such Order, and every such
delegation may from time to time alter or revoke; and
it is by the said Act provided that any such delega-
tion may be so made to any person holding office in
or under the General Government of New Zealand,
or in or under any Provincial Government thereof,
by the title of his office, and may be therein expressed
to be made to such officer and his successors in such
office, and, when so expressed to be made, the powers
and authorities thereby delegated shall from time to
time, until revocation thereof, be held and exercised
only by the person for the time being holding such
office, and no other person:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, in exercise and pursuance of
the power in him vested by the said Act, doth hereby
delegate unto the

SECRETARY OF CUSTOMS,

and his successors in office, all the powers conferred
on the Governor by the eighteenth section of the said
Act.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, the
twenty-eighth day of May, 1870.

Present:
THE HONORABLE WM. FOX, THE PREMIER, PRESIDING,
AND MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Marine Act, 1867," it is
enacted that the Governor may, by Order in
Council, from time to time delegate all or any of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the said Act,
and every such delegation from time to time alter or
revoke: And whereas by an Order in Council dated
the eighth day of January, one thousand eight hundred
and sixty-eight, His Excellency the Governor, by and
with the consent of the Executive Council of the
Colony, did delegate unto the Marine Engineer for
the Colony, and his successors in office, certain
powers conferred on him by section eighteen of the
said Act: And whereas it is expedient to revoke the
delegation so made as aforesaid:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, doth hereby revoke the said
Order in Council of the eighth day of January, one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight, and the
delegation made thereby.

And whereas by an Order in Council dated the
eighth day of January, one thousand eight hundred
and sixty-eight, His Excellency the Governor, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council

of Customs at the Ports of Auckland, New Plymouth,
Wellington, Napier, Nelson, Blenheim, Lyttelton,
Dunedin, and Invercargill, and to his successors in
office, certain powers conferred on him by section
eighteen of the said Act: And whereas it is
expedient to revoke the delegation so made as
aforesaid:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, and in pursuance of the
power vested in him by the said Act, doth hereby
revoke the said Order in Council of the eighth
day of January, one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-eight, and every delegation made thereby.

a Convention of Commerce, which was signed at
Vienna on the 30th of December last, between Her
Majesty and the Emperor of Austria, the ratifica-
tions of which were exchanged on the 23rd ultimo.

CONVENTION OF COMMERCE BETWEEN HER MAJESTY
AND THE EMPEROR OF AUSTRIA.

Signed at Vienna, December 30, 1869.--Ratifications
exchanged at Vienna, February 23, 1870.

HER Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom
of Great Britain and Ireland, on the one part, and
His Majesty the Emperor of Austria, King of Bo-
hemia, &c., and Apostolic King of Hungary, on the
other part, have resolved to conclude the following
Convention in lieu of the Supplementary Convention
stipulated in Article V. of the Treaty of Commerce
of the 16th December, 1865, and have named for their
Plenipotentiaries, that is to say:

Her Majesty the Queen of the United King-
dom of Great Britain and Ireland, the Right
Honorable John Arthur Douglas, Baron Bloomfield
of Oakhampton and Redwood, a Peer of Ireland, a
Member of Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy
Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Honor-
able Order of the Bath, Her Majesty's Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to His Imperial
and Royal Apostolic Majesty; and

His Imperial and Royal Apostolic Majesty,
Frederic Ferdinand Count Beust, His Imperial
Majesty's Privy Councillor, Chancellor of the Ein-
pire, and Minister of the Imperial House and of
