NOTICE is hereby given, that Government In-
surance and Annuities Offices, under "The
Government Annuities Act, 1869," have been opened
at the under-mentioned Post Offices:-

or deferred, Life Insurances, or other advantages
under the Act, will receive every information, and the
necessary forms, on application at any of the above-
named offices.

at the Chief Post Offices at Auckland, New Plymouth,
Napier, Wellington, Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch,
Dunedin, and Invercargill, and at the Post Offices at
Hokitika, Greymouth, Westport, and Charleston.

All persons wishing to obtain Annuities, immediate
or deferred, Life Insurances, or other advantages
under the Act, will receive every information and
the necessary forms on application at either of the
above-named offices.

PURSUANT to the provisions of an Act of the
General Assembly of New Zealand, passed in
the eighteenth year of the reign of Her Majesty
Queen Victoria, and intituled "The Marriage Act,
1854," the following names of Officiating Ministers,
within the meaning of the said Act, are published for
general information:-

Presbyterian Church of Otago and Southland.
The Reverend JAMES CHISHOLM.

Hebrew Congregation.
The Reverend ISAAC ZACHARIAH.

I, JOHN B. BENNETT, Registrar-General of Births,
Deaths, and Marriages in New Zealand, do hereby
certify that the foregoing NAMES of OFFICIATING
MINISTERS, within the meaning of "The Marriage
Act, 1854," have been sent in to me in addition to
the names in Lists published in the New Zealand
Gazette, No. 6, of the 29th of January; No 7, of
the 5th of February; No. 13, of the 12th of March;
No. 21, of the 20th of April; No. 23, of the 4th
of May; and No. 24, of the 12th of May, in the
present year.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this
twenty-first day of May, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy.

Office of Registrar of Joint Stock Companies,
Christchurch, 18th May, 1870.

I, EDWARD DENHAM, Registrar of Joint Stock
Companies for the Province of Canterbury, do
hereby notify that I have registered a Memorandum
of Association, establishing a Company, with limited
liability of the shareholders therein, intituled
"The Pioneer Steam Thrashing Company, Limited."

The object for which the Company is established,
is expressed to be "thrashing grain." And that in
pursuance of the provisions of "The Joint Stock
Companies Act, 1860," I have issued a Certificate of
Incorporation of the said Company, bearing date the
18th day of May, 1870.

NOTICE is hereby given, that application has been
made to His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by Frederick William
Wright and George Charles Herrick, of Auck-
land, in the Colony of New Zealand, praying for the
grant to them of Letters Patent, under the Seal of
the Colony, for the exclusive use, advantage, and
enjoyment of an Improved Self-acting Clamp Moun-
tain Wire Tramway.

And notice is hereby further given, that all objec-
tions to the granting of such Letters Patent must be
lodged with John Boyle Bennett, Esq., Registrar-
General, at Wellington, in the said Colony, (being
the person appointed for that purpose under "The
Patent Act, 1860,") within four calendar months
from the publication of this notice, subscribed with
the proper name and address of the person so
objecting.

NOTICE is hereby given, that George Philip
Hilton, Civil Engineer, and Robert Walker
Fairbairn, Machinist, both of Shortland, Thames, in
the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New
Zealand, have made an application to His Excellency
the Governor of New Zealand, for the Grant to them
of Letters Patent, pursuant to the provisions of "The
Patents Act, 1860," for the exercise, vending, and
exclusive use within the Colony of New Zealand of
an Invention for "Certain Improvements in Lowering,
Raising, and Transporting of Minerals, Merchandise,
Agricultural Produce, Ships' Cargo, and other objects,
and also in the Apparatus employed therein."

Any person who may wish to prefer any objection
to such Grant is required to send, within four months
of the publication hereof, to the office of John Boyle
Bennett, Esq., at Wellington, the officer appointed
to receive the same, a statement in writing setting
forth clearly the grounds of such objection, subscribed
with his proper name and address.

"People's Petroleum Company, Limited," will be

1870, at 3 o'clock, for the purpose of receiving the
Liquidator's Report.
