5. Probate and letters of administration shall be
dispensed with in the following cases:-
(a.) Where the death has happened beyond the
limits of the Colony, and probate or letters of
administration, or some equivalent thereto, has
been granted by some Court or person of
competent authority out of the Colony, and
an exemplification or other formal proof
thereof is produced.
(b.) Where the money is received by a Curator
of Intestate Estates in New Zealand, duly
authorized by law to receive the same.
(c.) Where the whole legal right to the moneys
insured has been assigned to some person still
living, in accordance with the provisions of
the said Government Annuities Act, and the
regulations to be made thereunder.
6. All powers of attorney, probates, letters of
administration, exemplifications, or other formal
proofs, orders of Courts, and other instruments
proving the right of any person to receive any
insurance money, shall be produced to the Com-
missioner, or to such person as he shall in each
case appoint.
7. The policy shall be given up when the insurance
money is paid.
8. The Commissioner may accept proofs of age
and identity or death in any form, provided the same
appear to comply substantially with these Regu-
lations.
9. All proofs shall be made at the expense of
the applicant.

GREETING:
WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections
Act, 1858," it is enacted that it shall be lawful
for the Governor, by Warrant under his hand, from
time to time to appoint polling places for each
Electoral District, within or without the limits
thereof, and to appoint any one of such places to be
the principal polling place for the district, and all or
any of such polling places at any time to abolish
and to appoint other polling places in lieu thereof:
Now therefore, the Governor of New Zealand, in
pursuance of the power and authority in him vested
by the said Act, doth hereby appoint the following
places to be additional polling places for the Electoral
District hereinafter specified for the election of Mem-
bers of the House of Representatives, namely:-
For the District of Westland North-Court
House, Wangapeka; Warden's Office, Ma-
takitaki.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued at Wel-
lington, this nineteenth day of May, in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seventy.

the District of the Thames for the election of Super-
intendent and Members of the Provincial Council of
the Province of Auckland, and do appoint in lieu
thereof-
For the District of the Thames-The Court
House, Shortland; Messrs. Allen and Hall's
Store, Tapu Creek (Hastings); Old Court
House, Coromandel.
For the District of Coromandel-The Court
House, Coromandel.
And I do further appoint the Court House, Short-
land, and the Court House, Coromandel, to be the
principal polling places for the said districts.

1858," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Governor, in the name and on behalf of Her
Majesty, from time to time to appoint and remove a
superior Officer of Customs, who shall have the con-
trol and direction of all other officers and persons
employed in or about the collection and management
of the revenue of Customs, and shall be styled
"The Commissioner of Customs;" and also, in like
manner from time to time to appoint and remove, or
to depute to the Commissioner the power to appoint
and remove, officers and persons subordinate to the
Commissioner to collect and manage the Customs
revenue, and to perform the several duties incident
to and connected with the collection and management
thereof:
Now therefore, I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
the Governor as aforesaid, in pursuance and exercise
of the said power and authority, do hereby delegate to
The Hon. JULIUS VOGEL,
the Commissioner of Customs appointed as aforesaid,
the power to appoint and remove officers and persons
subordinate to the Commissioner to collect and
manage the Customs revenue and to perform the
several duties incident to and connected with the
collection and management thereof, vested in me by
the said in part recited Act, to be held and exercised
by him from time to time as he shall think fit, so long
